Narrator's POV :

It was the day after Tenma and Tsurugi's fight.

Tsurugi was still with Hakuryuu, probably still sound asleep since it was only 3 in the morning. For Tenma, he couldn't sleep. At all. He tried every trick in the book to help him at least catch a few Z's, but to no avail. The only thing on his mind was his lover. 'Kyousuke...When will you come back...' he thought to himself. He felt empty and incomplete. He felt alone and vulnerable. You might think that these things was all new to him, this was a feeling he knew all to well before but kept it at the back of his mind as his deepest, darkest secret that no one knows. Not even Kyousuke himself. At that moment, he reminisced on all the times in his life that he felt like this.

It started when his mother died when he was only 3 years old. It was a young age to feel such things, but his mother was his only source of happiness and protection back then...But she fell very ill and was bedridden for 7 months until she finally passed. It was the first time he felt empty and weak. And that feeling stayed and lingered in his heart, slowly chomping on it painfully. It went on like that, specially since his father was abusive. 'That man...' Tenma thought. That man was his main source of pain. It's funny how he's still well and alive after experiencing all kinds of torture back at his house in Okinawa.

Kneeling on salt with him carrying 3 large encyclopedia books each hand, getting spanked so hard with the metal part of his father's belt, having soap in his mouth, beating, punching, kicking, all those things. Yet here he was, still standing. 'I wonder what that man is up to...' He remembered when he moved here when he was only 8 or 9, Aki had his phone number. Slowly, he rose up from his bed and sat on the side. He didn't really know what he was doing, but his body was moving on it's own and his mind isn't even resisting. It wasn't yelling at him to stop. If he was crazy, he'd say it was actually encouraging him. He stood up and walked towards the door, not making a single creep.

If his father taught him one thing, it was how to be a ninja (not literally, but to be almost like a ninja). His ears were forced to learn how to hear things from miles away, how to have feather like light hands. How to sneak up and sneak away, and how to defend himself if he was ever caught. Opening the door to the outside of his room, he made his way to his Aunt's bedroom. He was careful and stayed alert for any sound of people or thing. Finally, he got there. He was lucky it was only at the end of the hall. At the other end away from his. He grabbed the handle and twisted it, before going in. Aki was asleep with her headphones on, music still playing on her music player.

She was always a music freak. She loved every genre of music there was. Tenma only smiled. This way she won't he able to hear him. He slowly went to grab her phone, still not making any noise. When he did, he opened it and pressed the phone app before sliding away outside her room and closing the door. It was only him now...

The brunette looked through the contacts until he found the person he was looking for. 'Mr. Matsukaze...Father...' he pressed that contact as soon as he had read it. It rang for a couple of seconds before the other line picked up. Tenma's heart started beating a little faster, but not to the point where he was so nervous he was speechless. "Hello ?" A masculine voice spoke up. "Father...?" Tenma whispered on the phone.

"...Is this Tenma ?"

"Yes, father."

"What in the name of the gods do you want now ? Didn't I tell you I didn't want to hear from you again ?"

"Yes, so you may not like what I'm about to say next..."

"Go on before I hang up, boy. I don't have time for this."
