Soonyoung Hong (Class 4)

Soonyoung Hong was born on the 12th of May, 1997. He was 16 when he died.

Sooyoung's parents were old, and he was a precious gift to them.  As a baby, he barely cried, he just ate or slept. As he grew up, he developed an introverted, calm but easygoing personality. He was kind too, and often helped his father, who had limited mobility. His father eventually died because of a long term illness. He had wished his son dies before him, and his family also suffered problems with money, but Soonyoung stayed strong. He didn't want to go to the field trip because it was so expensive, he didn't want to give his mother more issues with money. He was a member in the band ADHD with Suhyun Park, Geonwoo Kim from class 5, Kyeongmi Oh, and Lee Jaewook. His best friend was Park Suhyun. Soonyoung's ultimate dream was to become an animator.

He can be briefly seen browsing his phone in the footage Park Suhyun recorded. His last contact was with his mother before the ferry began to tilt. He sent her a picture of him at the deck with his friends, saying ''Mom, I'm good.'' His last text message was a few minutes later in Azer.

His body was recovered and returned to his family. He now rests at Ansan Sky Memorial Park.
