Jiin Kim (Class 3)

Jiin Kim was born on the 9th of September, 1997. She was 16 when she died.

Jiin Kim was her family's only child. Her mother devoted almost all of her time on Jiin, and loved her no matter what. Her best friend was Yoonmin Choi from the same class. Jiin was good at playing the piano, and dreamed of majoring in music in an university.

The last words her mother heard from Jiin were her asking where her clothes were when she was packing. She heard no words from Jiin during the trip.

One of her surviving friend wrote her a letter after her passing:

"Hello Jiin, it's already your birthday and it's autumn. Time passes so fast, it's scary!
Nowadays, I can't hear your voice and I'm sorry I can't even say hello.
My friend's faces get more and more mature as the month goes by, but if you look at your pictures, they still look like babies.
You promised we'd go drink together when we become adults. Sorry that I went too early~~
The other kids are now preparing for a job and are busy with college worries, but you were stopped~
I don't know why they took you to heaven, but I wish I could stay there without worrying about studying or worrying about family or friends.
Your mother and father will also cry again tomorrow.
The number of cycles of the Sewol  that comes back every year and each birthday is sad to my friends.
One is gone from the world, but dozens of people are really sad...
Still, many people haven't forgotten and kept staying there, so it seems that they're less forgotten.
It's been a while since that. We haven't known each other, but we got to know each other so well that we quickly became intimate.
If time can really go back, I want to go back!
After eating together, we just sit down and talk, Kakao talk and call at night
My mom always met today and asked if she was calling
Your mother must have been like that too..~~ I came to my house often... I think I would take a lot of pictures.

Her body was recovered and returned to her parents. She now rests at Ansan Sky Memorial Park.
