Hansol Lee was born on the 19th of December, 1997. She was 16 when she died.
Hansol was the eldest child and took a good care of her younger brother. Her father also took good care of her, buying her everything she asked for. She wasn't spoiled, and remained kind and sweet to those around her. Hansol loved baking and was a part of the baking club at school. She sometimes brought the cookies she baked home. She spent her free time studying or playing, she had even partipicated in the TV Show 'Superstar K' and performed well with her dancing and singing. Hansol also had many friends, and she promised to make a time capsule with them one day. Hansol's ultimate dream was to attend Kyunghee University in the Department of Hotel Culinary Arts and open her own bakery.
Hansol had injured her leg a few days prior to the trip and had to get ligaments onto her right leg. Despite that, she boarded the ferry. She had difficulties walking, but tried to make the best out of the trip. She couldn't escape the sinking ferry even if she wanted to, because of her leg. Hansol might've been among the girls who lived in an airpocket after the sinking (Others being Danbi Lee, Dahye Jeong, Juhee Kim and Saeyoung Han and possibly Goeun Han and Songhee Kim). But there's no solid evidence to prove that.
Her body was recovered and returned to her family. She now rests at Pyeongtaek Lakeside Memorial Park.
