Minji Kim was born on the 22th of April, 1997. She was 16 when she died.
Minji had a bright smile her parents would never forget. She was cheerful and strong, cooking the best foods in her homeroom. Minji loved to go bowling, singing and talking about enviorment issues. Her boyfriend was Seonwoo Kim from class 8, and she was friends with Aejin Jeong, who survived the disaster. (She is the girl in the 'meeting a Sewol survivor video) Minji's ultimate dream was to become a painter.
Minji had injured her finger pretty badly after a dodgeball match. She had thought of skipping the trip, but decided to go anyway. The last contact she had was when she called her parents, excited about the firework show. Her explaining the details in a cheerful voice remains their last memory of her.
Her body was recovered and returned to her parents. She now rests at Pyeongtaek Lakeside Memorial Park.
