Yoonhee Jin was born on the 24th of October, 1997. She was 16 when she died.
Yoonhee was very warm-hearted and caring. She never complained to her parents, and barely asked them for new clothes. Her mother recalls always hearing a loud 'thud' as she dropped her backpack to the floor after returning from hagwon. She was excited when her dad bought her a new pair of sneakers, and she took them with her to the field trip. Her sneakers and her phone were never recovered. Yoonhee's dream was to become an accountant.
Yoonhee's parents wanted to see the camera footage of the ferry after it was recovered. She is seen on her phone, boarding Sewol with her new sneakers, dragging her baggage behind her. Why were her phone and sneakers lost? All the other students had some footage deleted from their phones..her phone might've had something they didn't want us to see.
Her body was recovered and returned to her parents. She now rests at Pyeongtaek Lakeside Memorial Park.
