Hyekyeong Lee (Class 2)

Hyekyeong Lee was born on the 5th of December, 1997. She was 16 when she died.

Hyekyeong was the youngest child of her family. She was focused and ambitious since a young age. She wasn't greedy, and out of the 50 000 won she was given, she took only 30 000won. Hyekeong also couldn't afford the bus, so she walked 30 minutes to school. She loved makeup, and applied it on her mother and sometimes even her coach. Hyekyeong dreamed of attending either Myongji Junior College or Sungshin Women's University, and become a makeup artist after graduating. She had preapared for a beauty contest that was supposed to take place after the field trip.

When her parents heared about the sinking, they rushed to Jindo and looked for her name on the survivors list. Her name was on the list, and they immediately went looking for her. The auhtorities told that this Hyekyeong was a girl in a red sweatsuit, but when her parents took a look at her, it wasn't Hyekyeong, it was somebody else. Hyekyeong appeared in her sister's dream after the sinking ''I'm watching you all from Heaven!'' She had exclaimed.

Her body was recovered and returned to her parents. She now rests at Pyeongtaek Lakeside Memorial Park.
