Deokha Choi was born on the 13th of December, 1997. He was 16 when he died.

Deokha was his family's youngest. He was described as kind, hardworking, and as a boy with a great personality. He had studied Kendo, but quit to focus on his studies. He was also a class president when he was on the 8th grade. His dream was to be a body guard, so he could protect people.

He was labeled as a hero, because he was the first one to alert the authorities. They wasted his time asking the langtitude and longtitude of the ferry. Without his help, many more would've died. When his body was recovered from the fourth floor, he wasn't wearing a life jacket.

His body was recovered and returned to his family. He rests at Ansan Sky Memorial Park.
