Hyejeong Choi was born on the 26th of November, 1990. She was 23 when she died.
Hyejeong graduated from Dongguk University, majoring in history. She later went back and majored in English literature. She treated her students like they were her younger siblings, with respect and warmth. Hyejeong herself was very bright and happy person. During the sinking, she had a easy way to the deck, but instead, she went to her students. She stayed with them until the very end.
Her body was recovered and returned to her family. She rests at Hwaseong Sky Memorial Park.
