Minseok Kim was born on the 10th of September, 1997. He was 16 when he died.
Not much is known about Minseok. He had an older brother, and had to live at his aunt's house, because his father was working at the countryside. He had the option to move to live with his older brother, but his home situation wasn't good, and Minseok stayed at his aunt's place. He was interested in law, and dreamed of becoming a lawyer.
His father was at work during the sinking, but rushed to Jindo after hearing about the sinking. Seeing his dead son come out of the water made him collapse. He described the wait as 'hellish'
His body was recovered and returned to his family. He was cremated.
