Shinwook Kang (Class 4)

Shinwook Kang was born on the 12th of February, 1997. He was 17 when he died.

Shinwook had to grow up too early. His parents seperated when he was in the third grade, leaving him to be raised by his father and grandmother. His grandmother passed away a few years later. Shinwook used to be talkative, but he became more quiet, and matured too quickly.  He worked a part-time job, but was often underpaid. He never complained about it. Despite this, he was happy, and had many friends whom he often played football with. He loved rice cake. Shinwook had signed up for a business program at school, hoping he would have a bright, better future, and be financinally stable. He didn't have the money for the trip, but his older sister paid for it instead.

On the 15th of April, he had his last call with his father. ''Dad, I don't think the ferry is leaving because there's a lot of fog. I can just go back, so don't lock the door.''

His body was recovered and returned to his family. He now rests at Ansan Sky Memorial Park.
