Hayoung Jeong was born on the 11th of March, 1997. She was 17 when she died.
Hayoung liked dancing since elementary school. She danced alone, in groups, and in events held by the school or by her local church. Hayoung loved to make her friends Onyu Yang, Saeyoung Han, Jihyun Nam and Sujeong Kang (all from the same class) laugh by imitating a character Georg Porg. Hayoung took care of her sister, because her mother was busy with work. She never skipped school and always did her homework, even if meant not sleeping. Hayoung's dream was to help people trough UNICEF and all other similar organizations. She desperately wanted to end world hunger.
During the sinking, Hanyoung called her mother for the last time. Her last words were just simple 'I love you'.
Her body was recovered and returned to her parents. She now rests at Hwaseong Sky Memorial Park.
