Yoonsu Kim was born on the 22th of April, 1997. He was 16 when he died.
Yoonsu was the eldest child of his family, only having two younger brothers. He cared for them, always sharing his pocket money with them. Yoonsu loved books, and could never fall asleep without reading one. He was a member of the school's book club. Before the sinking Jongyoung Hong, Donghyeok Kim, Minseok Choi, Minseok Kim and Seongyoon Park from class 8 and Yoonsu had recorded a video named ''Spoken Words'' Yoonsu had writen the script, and he felt proud. His dream was to become a broadcast writer.
Yoonsu had his last call with his parents. It was at 6:30am, an hour before the sinking. ''I'm sorry I haven't talked to my brothers. I've seen them sing, and it remains in my memory.'' His last text was also with his parents, just a simple ''I'm hungry.'' His way of saying he's off to breakfast.
His body was recovered and returned to his parents. He now rests at Ansan Sky Memorial Park.
