Jihyun Hwang was born on the October 29th 1997. She was 16 when she died.
Jihyun was the only child of her parents, as all the previous pregnancies had resulted in miscarriges. Her parents described her as great and talkative. She often expressed her love for her parents by non-spoken actions, like doing housework without asking. Jihyun loved mystery books, horror movies, and learning Mandarin.
Jihyun's body was the last one to be retrieved as a body and not as a pile of liquified bones. She was recovered on October, 6 months after the sinking. She was found from the third floor women's bathroom, which was looked trough multiple times. She rests now at Pyeongtaek Lakeside Memorial Park.
