Seonghyun Kim was born on the 28th of November, 1997. He was 16 when he died.
Seonghyun had a younger brother he cared for, this was because their mother was too busy with her work. As a result, Seonghyun grew really close with him, and they'd rather spend time with each other than their parents. His brother also went to Danwon, but only after the sinking. Seonghyun was an introverted, but calm young man. He'd rather spend his time at home rather than at the city. He studied hard, his favorite subject being history, especially Korean History. His motto was ''Don't force yourself on the things you don't like.'' Seonghyun also liked badminton, and was a member of the school's bowling club. His ultimate dream was to become a history teacher.
His body was recovered and returned to his parents. He now rests at Hwaseong Sky Memorial Park.
