UA Sports Festival: Round Two

3rd Person POV

"Time is up! Everybody must be with a team because the competition is about to start!" Midnight announced to the students who quickly assembled into their teams, lifting their riders up onto their shoulders.

Midoryia climbed quickly onto Uraraka's and Hatsume's shoulders. The fourth member that Midoryia had selected was Tokoyami, who was positioned at the front of the formation. He activated his quirk, releasing Dark Shadow in front of him. Midoryia messed with the jetpack on his back, tightening it against his body. "We got this, just stick to the plan."

His team nodded, determination painted across each of their faces. All the students had their headbands tied to their foreheads, everyone's eyes falling on Midoryia as his headband fell into place. The 10,000,000 points stood out like a target sign on his forehead.

"Okay students, your time starts...now!" Midnight cheered, blowing on a horn that echoed through the whole stadium. Almost immediately, the teams closest to Midoryia jumped in his direction, each of them eyeing his headband.

"Hatsume now!" Midoryia commanded as Hatsume pulled down on part of her contraption. The jetpack on Midoryia's back roared to life and they began to lift into the air. Uraraka touched each of her classmates, allowing them to be lifted just as easily off the ground. The team flew into the air, getting a safe distance off the ground to where their opponents could no longer reach them.

The students under them cursed in frustration as they quickly turned their attention to the groups around them, not wanting to waste their time. "We just have to keep running. If they can't touch us, then they can't take our headbands." Midoryia told his team. They landed on the opposite side of the arena, a good distance away from the rest of the teans.

However, that didn't mean that the other teams weren't already changing directions and running towards him again. Midoryia knew that if running wouldn't work they would need someone who was good with long distance combat, which was why he chose Tokoyami. As the other teams hurtled their quirks towards Midoryia, Dark Shadow would reflect each of the attacks.

"You're doing amazing Dark Shadow!" Midoryia praised the creature. Dark Shadow smirked before giving Tokoyami a smug look. "Please don't fuel his ego." Tokoyami mumbled.

"DEKU!" Bakugo screamed as his team ran towards him. It consisted of Mina, Sero, and Kirishima as they propelled themselves in the direction of Midoryia's group.

"Oh shit, okay Hatsume let's get back into the air!" Midoryia quickly stated as his jetpack reactivated. They shot back into the sky quickly, managing to get out of Bakugo's grasp just in the knick of time. Hatsume looked up at Midoryia, pride filling her eyes.

"So? How do you like my babies?" She asked him, eagerly waiting for his response. "You're babies are amazing Hatsume!" Midoryia replied, patting the jetpack. Uraraka rolled her eyes at the exchange, "I'm the one making us float." She scoffed lightly under her breath.

Just as the team thought they had made it back to safety, a fireball shot past Dark Shadow while he was off-guard and struck Midoryia's jetpack, causing the contraption to begin to smoke. It sputtered a couple times before shutting down completely. Since Uraraka hadn't touched Midoryia, the extra weight caused the team to begin to fall out of the sky. Uraraka held her breath as she struggled to right the team as they fell to the ground. She managed to straighten her teammates as they landed but they still fell at a decent speed. They groaned as they legs struggled to support the impact of the fall.

"Is everyone alright?" Midoryia asked, looking down at his team to look for injuries.

"MY BABY!!" Hatsume cried out, cradling the piece of metal with her free arm. Uraraka had a strong urge to slap the metal out of her hands but she chose not to act on it.
