Assigning Groups

"Alright class pass up your tests." Aizawa announced as a timer went off, signifying the end of the exam period. Midoryia passed the stack of exams up to Aizawa. He felt confident about how he did. His study session when he got back to the cottage with Aizawa really paid off.

"How do you think you did?" Uraraka whispered into his ear, leaning forward in her seat.

"I'm feeling good about it. What about you?" He asked back.

"I just hope I'm a good guesser." She laughed softly back. Midoryia couldn't help but smile. It was the next part that he was dreading though.

"Alright class, get dressed into your hero costumes and meet me at the exam arena for you second part of the exam."

Midoryia could feel his body stiffen slightly. He had stayed up all past night studying and even then, he hadn't been getting much rest before that. His quirk basically depended on his mental state to be good since it relied so heavily on his brainwaves and activity. There would be no doubt he was going to have a shorter time limit today.

"What do you think we're gonna be facing against? Robots?" Kirishima asked as the class walked towards the arena.

God I hope not. Midoryia thought to himself. He couldn't handle lifting that kind of weight. Not to mention he couldn't just erase their "quirk".

"Nah I bet we're fighting each other." Kaminari chimed in.

"If that's the case then I want to fight Mineta." Mina stated.

"Why? I thought you didn't like him because he was a total perv." Sero asked her, raising an eyebrow.

"Yeah but he's the easiest target." Mina pointed out. Mineta pouted, crossing his arms as he glared at the girl.

As they approached the arena, they were stopped in the front of it. Aizawa stood in front of them, a few other pros gathered beside him.

Oh god I know where this is going.

Izuku felt his heart skip a beat as he realized what the real competition was going to be.

"For your final part of your exams, you will be facing against one of these pros." Aizawa gestured to the group next to him.

"What? By ourselves? That's insane!" Mineta exclaimed as his eyes jumped from pro to pro before landing on Midnight.

"No, you won't be alone. You will be put into pairs." Aizawa stated. Small cheers erupted from the class as the lower ranked classmates high fived each other with excitement.

"You're pairings will be on the board." Aizawa gestured towards a blackboard beside him. The class quickly hurried over to it before huddling around it.

As each of the students found their pairing they began to disperse into their groups. Izuku stayed back, figuring his partner would just come to him once they read the board.

"Oi, I get Deku?!" Bakugo yelled out.

Shit.

Midoryia rolled his eyes as the blonde walked over to him. Bakugo had been nicer to him since discovering Midoryia had a bounty on him but that didn't mean that his feelings had changed for the boy.

"All I'm saying is that you better not fucking hold me back." Bakugo warned the greenette, pressing his finger into his chest.

Midoryia swiped his hand away. "Last time I checked, I beat you the last time we went one on one." He hissed back.

"Is that right?" Bakugo said, a smile appearing on his face though it was anything but happy.

"Let's just get this over with." Midoryia huffed, turning back towards their teacher.

"Alright, here's who you will be competing against." He said as he started assigning groups to pros.

"And lastly, Bakugo and Midoryia will be facing against me."

Wait...WHAT?

Midoryia gave Aizawa a questioning look but the pro didn't acknowledge it.

"Hey, at least you don't have to go against All Might." Todoroki said as he sighed. Momo and him had gotten paired up against the number 1 hero.

"Yeah." Midoryia laughed softly though it was empty of emotion. He knew what Aizawa was doing. Midoryia had been down on himself for a while now since the kidnapping and there's no doubt this was a part of Aizawa's plan to do something about it.

"Alright, first group go into the arena. The exams are about to begin."
