Flashback
Midoryia laid down on the bed in Recovery Girls office. She had given him some pills for his headache and told him to wait for them to kick in before heading out. Midoryia sighed as he turned over on his stomach and put his face down onto the pull.

"Midoryia!" A sharp voice yelled from beside him. Midoryia quickly shot up from his position and look to his side. Kendo stood next to him, a big smile stretching across her face. Midoryia smiled back and sat up, letting his legs hang off the side of the bed.

"Hey Kendo", Midoryia replied, rubbing his eyes softly trying to relieve his headache, "W-what're you doing here?"

Kendo's smile dropped a little as she grew serious. She leaned in closer to Midoryia to prevent anyone else from hearing her even though nobody else was in the room.

"I came to warn you about Shinsou." Kendo whispered sharply. Midoryia frowned, tilting his head slightly.

"Shinsou? As in the guy I'm competing against?" Midoryia asked. Kendo nodded sharply.

"You need to be careful with his quirk Midoryia. If he gets you caught in it, he'll win without doubt."

"Well what's his quirk then?"

"I'm not sure if this is completely accurate but I think he used his quirk on our team during the second round."

"What do you mean you think?"

Kendo shook her head, staring at the ground as she tried to remember. "I just remember him saying something to us and when I replied my mind went blank. I don't remember anything about how we made it to the third round at all. I just know I snapped out of it when I ran into one of the other competitors on a different team."

Midoryia put his head up to his face as he tried to think. He muttered to himself softly, causing Kendo to give him a weird look. Midoryia looked up at her quickly.

  "His quirk is mind control?"

Kendo nodded softly, "I think so, but I think he can only activate it if you talk to him."

"Sounds easy enough." Midoryia raked his fingers through his hair. Kendo gave Midoryia a look.

"I'm serious Midoryia, you need to be careful with this guy. He has his ways of getting people to fall into his quirk. Promise me you won't underestimate him, okay?"

"Okay, I promise." Kendo stuck out her pinky finger. Midoryia rolled his eyes and chuckled softly before wrapping his pinky around hers. Kendo smiled and leaned back, stretching her arms.

"Goodluck Midoryia. I better see you in the next match." Kendo turned to leave before Midoryia grabbed her arm. Kendo looked back to him as he locked eyes with her. He smiled smugly as he looked at her.

"I thought you said we weren't going to help each other after the second round? Why did you decide to warn me?" Kendo blushed as she looked away from him quickly to hide her face.

"I j-just thought that you deserved to know since you were basically the reason we even got past the first round." Kendo hurried over to the door, grabbing onto the door handle.

"Thank you Kendo." Midoryia called after her. She froze, her hand holding the door open. She smiled, her face turning redder.

"Anytime Midoryia." She said without turning around, exiting the room. Midoryia laid back down onto his bed, a wide smile stretched across his face.

Shinsou stood in front of Midoryia, his face absent of any emotion. Midnight raised her hand in the air before throwing it down quickly, "Begin!"
