Midoryia's POV

It's been a few days now since I've begun my internship and Gran Torino has made it crystal clear that he wouldn't be taking it easy on me. I had bruises going all up my arms and legs from the constant training but it was worth it. I could feel myself being able to push further with every day.

"If you are constantly worrying about your limit then you will never reach your full potential." The old man would lecture me whenever I would mention a headache. I guess I was so use to playing it on the safe side that I didn't know how to just let loose. Thankfully, that was exactly what Gran Torino was teaching me to do.

The clock struck 8:00 p.m. and I sighed. The geezer typically went to bed at this time so I was forced to retire to my room as well. "Thank you for today's training, goodnight sir."

The man grabbed me by my arm as I turned to leave. "Where do you think you're going?"

I looked at him in confusion. "It's 8:00 sir. Isn't that when you usually go to bed?"

Gran Torino let out a soft chuckle before shaking his head.  "Well I've been thinking lately...and I think you're ready to go out on patrol with me."

My eyes widened, "Tonight?!"

"No, tomorrow. YES TONIGHT! Why else would I stop ya?" My cheeks turned a soft pink color out of embarrassment as I nodded my head. Gran Torino cleared his throat, "And I assume you received permission from UA to bring your hero costume with you, right?"

"Y-yes sir!" I stuttered as I began to feel excitement running through my body. Gran Torino stared at me for a second.

"Well what're ya waiting for? GO PUT IT ON!" He said impatiently. I quickly complied and raced up to my room to retrieve my costume. I swiftly changed my clothes before running back into the living room where Gran Torino was waiting. "Alright, let's go."

He opened the door and we stepped into the cold night air. It had been a while since I had last been outside. Gran Torino had kept me busy training in the living room which seemed a little impractical to me but I wouldn't dare criticize him out loud. As we began walking down the street I realized we were heading to the tram station.

"Sir, where are we going?"

He didn't bother turning to look up at me as he stated, "Hosu City."

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The tram ride was long as I leaned my back against the uncomfortable seat. My legs were practically asleep and I could feel my eyes slowly forcing their way closed. It was so boring just sitting around and the ride back would definitely be just as bad. I was about to doze off when screaming started to echo through the tram. My eyes shot open as I realized people were gathering on one side of the cabin. They seemed to be watching something outside when suddenly they all began to disperse in all directions.

A creature came soaring through the side of the tram, causing glass to spray everywhere. Gran Torino was already out of his seat and propelling himself towards it. My eyes came in focused as I realized what it was that he was facing against. The Nomu was clutching to the inside of the tram as it's lower half hung out the side. Gran Torino's foot made contact with it's long muzzle, causing it to lose its grip and fly backwards out of the cabin.

Gran Torino jumped out after it, using his quirk to help him soar through the air.

"Gran Torino!" I called out to him as I rushed over to the hole. He looked up at me.

"I need to take care of this. I will find you later. STAY ON THE TRAM!" He turned back towards where the Nomu fell and rocketed in that directions. I growled to myself as I debated on what I had to do. I looked at the other passengers in the cabin. None of them appeared to be hurt, just shaken up so my help was not needed here.

"I'm sorry sir." I muttered to myself as I jumped through the hole and into the open air. I used my quirk to effectively help me glide through the air. It was too dark to see where Gran Torino was but as I was looking an explosion echoed further towards the center of the city.

"There's no way that Nomu got all the way over there that fast, so that means there must be more." I mumbled to myself as I changed course and shot towards the source of the explosion. Fire was raging in the center of one of the streets when I finally arrived. Multiple local heros were trying to put it out as the rest seemed to be facing off against another creature. "So I guess I was right."

I was about to help when I spotted someone familiar. It was the pro that Iida was supposed to be interning with. I landed next to him as he continued to try to put out the fire. "Where's Iida?" I asked him as I realized the boy wasn't on the scene. The hero looked down at me berfore recognizing me.

"Hey you're from UA, you must be one of his friends right?"

"Yes sir."

"Well Iida's ran off somewhere but I'm too busy to look for him right now. Can you help look?"

I nodded my head, "Of course."

I took back to the air as I began to think of why Iida would have ran off from his boss. It seemed so unlike him. That's when a dark realization crossed over my mind. Hosu was the place where his brother had gotten attacked. He had been acting weird before we all got separated getting onto the trains to go to our internship.

Flashback

"Iida, are you sure you're okay? You haven't talked the entire way here." Uraraka asked Iida. His eyes had been locked on the ground in front of him throughout the walk over to the station. Her words seemed to have snapped him out of his trance and he looked up. He tried to force a smile but I could see right through it. He was in pain, but didn't want his friends to see.

"I'm fine Uraraka, you don't need to worry about me." He stated, laughing nervously.

"Is this about your brother?" She pushed the topic further. Iida's smile fell and he looked back to the ground.

"No, I told you. I'm perfectly fine." He turned to leave for his train when I grabbed onto his sleeve. He stopped in is tracks and looked at me.

"Hey, we're friends right? You can talk to us about anything." I assured him, not breaking eye contact. Iida seemed to want to say something but quickly stopped himsef.

"Thanks Midoryia. You too Uraraka. I appreciate your concerns but really, I'm okay." And with that he left for his train.

End of Flashback

"Damn it, I knew I should stopped him back then. He's going to get himself killed if he's doing what I think he's doing." I landed on the top of one of the buildings as I tried to think. "Where would the Hero Killer most likely strike?"

That's when it hit me. "He would most likely attack towards the outside area of the city where there is less action. Especially right now with the Nomu attack."

I shot back into the air as I flew through the air, away from all the chaos.

"Hang in there Iida, I'm coming."
