Chapter 19

Arken POV

The day went by smoothly. My friends greeted me when they saw me. Prof gave me exams para humabol sa na missed kong quizzes. Walang nanggulong studyante sa akin sa buong araw ko kaya laking pasasalamat ko dahil tahimik ang araw ko ngayon. Except of course sa mga mean girls wannabe na kulang nalang na tumirik at mamuti ang mga mata sa kakatitig at pumutok ang labi kakatsismis sa'kin. It's a good thing that they didn't tried to pull some trick because I don't think I can handle another pain in the ass today. I'm still at my limit and provoking me right now will lead them to no good.

"Ken, school's swimming pool after this." Bulong ni Venice kaya napatango ako. Naisip ko si Marcus. Kanina pa ang out nito. Baka bored na bored na ito sa pag-aantay sakin. Kanina pang 6 ang uwian nun, eh. Kinuha ko ang cellphone ko at nag text.

To Kingkong: still alive?

Nag-antay muna ako ng ilang segundo bago nagvibrate cellphone ko. Pasimple kong tinago ang cellphone sa libro na hawak ko.

From Kingkong: Just take your time.

To Kingkong: Where are you?

From KingKong: Stop texting. You're in the middle of class!

Napataas ang kilay ko sa reply nya. Edi sya na ang ulirang studyante! Nahiya naman ako sa pagiging righteous nya. Kung maka-react, prim and proper? Ulol! Kaya imbis na mabwiset pa ay hindi nalang ako nag text. Bahala syang maghintay! Sya pa itong inaalala.

From Kingkong: I'm at the Kiosk, tho. Will wait for you here ;)

Di na ulit ako nag reply at itinago na ang cellphone ko.  Sa wakas natapos na din ang lecture kaya agad na napasandal ako sa upuan. Sumasakit ang likod ko at pagod na pagod ako. Hindi pa ako nagpapahinga magmula ng makarating ako dito.

Trish nuddged me lighly and whispered. "What happened to you? You went MIA." We didn't had the chance to talk because when I arrived at home tulog pa sila and when they left for school, tulog pa ako.

"Someone tried to ambush, Dad. I have to cut some horns before they touch my family. Magkakaubusan muna ng sungay bago nila magawa ang binabalak nila." Matigas kong sagot at nakita ko ang pagkabigla ni Trisha. Agad na lumapit si Venice habang si Coren naman ay nililibang si Nina sa kwentuhan.

"What?! How?! How's Big Boss?!" She whispered yell trying to conceal her voice.

"He's okay and about Spencer," I sighed and touched the bridge of my nose. "He got shot."

"Did you found out who's behind that? How is he? Is he fine?!" Venice gritted her teeth.

"He's stable now."

"Thank God!" Trish whispered.

"They dared to hurt my family." I said in a stern voice.

"What did you do?" Tanong ni Venice.

"I already took care of it before I went back here."

"What happened, then? Why didn't you told us?! We can also go back home!" Trish furrowed her brows

"What do you think?" I asked.

"Mass Killing." Venice quickly said.

"Bomb explosion." Trish seconded.

"Blood bath! Sayang hindi ko nakita ang pagsabog!" Venice exclaimed.

"Huh?! Anong pagsabog?" Nina asked kaya natigilan si Venice.

"A-Ahh! Pagsabog ng kagandahan na sinalo lahat ni Arken." Palusot nito at tumango naman ito agad at ngumiti.

"Ahh right. Anyway guys, I gotta go. Rehearsals for the cheering squad." She said and waved us goodbye. Tumango ako ng bahagya ng tingnan nya ako at kawayan para umalis.
