Chapter 58

Arken POV

It's been 3 days since I last saw him and it's already 2 days na absent siya sa klase. This is so unlikely of him. Marcus is diligent in class, ayaw na ayaw nitong hindi pumapasok at hindi nakikinig sa lectures niya and to think na hindi pa siya nakakapagpasa ng plates niya ay talagang nakapagtataka.

"Hey!" Napalingon ako ng may lumapit sa gawi ko. "Mind if I join you here?" Hindi ako umimik. Maybe he took it as a yes kasi wala akong naging reaction. Umupo siya sa harap ko at ipinatong ang makakapal na libro sa table.

"Business management." Basa ko sa libro and he smiled.

"Uhh, yes. That's my course. You forgot?" He creased his brow. Mayamaya pa at natawa ito. "What do I expect? You don't care." Nanatili akong nakatingin sa kanya. Ano ang isasagot ko? Nothing. Kaya ang tanging ginawa ko ay nagkibit-balikat nalang. He stifled a laugh.

"Just as what I thought." May kinukuha ito sa bag niya tapos mayamaya ay nagtanong na naman siya. "How's your arm by the way?" He took a glance of my arm sling.

"It's still an arm though it's injured." Cyan chuckled at my answer and shook his head.

"Sungit mo talaga. You know what, curious talaga ako diyan sa mukha mo, eh. How did you managed that?"

"Learn science. Never heard of sexual intercourse?" Napaubo siya sa sinabi ko.

"H-Huh?!!"

"It is also called as coitus or copulation in another term. A reproductive act in which the male reproductive organ enters the female reproductive tract. That's how I managed getting this face. Does 'genes' ring a bells?"

"WTF?!"  Gulat na gulat siyang napatingin sa akin.

"What?" I asked nonchalantly.

"That's not what I meant, you smarty-pants." Ngumiwi ito. "I mean, your face is always blank."

"I don't think so. The last time I checked, I still have two eyes, a nose and a lips. It's basically not blank."

"Pilosopo!" Tawa nito. 

"Tss. I only give stupid answers to stupid questions."

"Wow! Grabe ka sa akin, ah?! Did you just lowkey said that I am stupid?" He reacted. Hindi ako umimik dahil tinatamad ako kaya umiling na naman ito at natawa. Lumingon ito sa paligid at parang may hinahanap.

"Where are they? Bakit ikaw lang nandito sa library?"

"May nakalagay bang sign na dapat by group ang pumunta dito?"

"Oh! come on, Arken. Don't be such a smart aleck." Tumawa na naman ito. I sighed.

"They're still taking the long quiz."

"Oh, wow! So you finished early?"

"Why are you always asking an obvious question?" Puna ko. Ngumiwi siya at napakamot sa batok.

"I-I'm sorry but I don't know how to start a conversation with you. Ang sungit-sungit mo."

"Tss."

"Uhmm.. Sige. Just go on with whatever you're doing." Anito. "Magbabasa lang din ako dito."

"Hmm." Tinitigan ko siya ng maigi kaya nagtaas naman agad ito ng mukha para tingnan ako.

"You need anything?" Cyan asked. Umiling ako kaya yumuko ulit ito para magbasa pero mayamaya pa ay nagtaas na naman ito agad ng tingin sa akin.

"I can actually feel that you're staring at me."

"Maybe because I have eyes?" 

"Just spill it. You want to ask something?"
