Long night of solace

-Ahri POV-

I walked through the night, looking for any clue that might lead me to the Rathian. With my bow ready on my back and a quiver full of arrows; again, I know this is probably suicide.

But there's something inside that's yelling at me to fight. Something that's calling me to go and prove myself to be as strong as I need to be.

Something inside me...

I called for Kiko, but he didn't come out. Looking into myself, I couldn't find traits of the little guy anywhere. There was nothing, not even my flames where working, as I noticed when I tried to summon a small flame on my hand.

There's something odd about me tonight. Something out of place that I can't figure out.

These thoughts kept wandering on my head while I kept looking for any trail that might lead me to the Wyvern, soon finding them in the form of pink scales on the floor.

They looked worn out, so it probably means that the Rathian was shedding her scales. The smell was distinctive, like a combination between leaves and smoke. Anyway, my path was now marked.

I followed the scent little by little as more trails appeared around me. Scales, marks of claws on the rocks around me and some smashed rocks. As I followed these trails, my surroundings started to change. On the walls of the small canyon I was walking in, there were some bindweeds and other plants blooming on the moonlight. The soil felt less dry and hard and became softer and more humid looking, yet still firm.

I kept walking inside the canyon and found myself with a small oasis. There were trees and plants everywhere, some dead tress that fell to the floor and small ponds. As I looked around, I tried to remember everything I know about Rathians.

Me: Okay, as far as I remember, these are powerful wyverns that had a poisonous tail and strong limbs. They can also spit fire out of their mouth so that's something to consider. The scales I found earlier where from a pink Rathian, something considerably more dangerous than a normal one. That also explains why Kei'ral was so adamant about not fighting it. To be honest, the four of us could stand our ground against a normal Rathian, especially if Kei'ral is fighting alongside us. But a pink one is totally different. Anyway, I'm about to prove myself that I can do it.

My ears moved themselves to find the source of a distant noise, that I couldn't really recognize. But then I heard the same roar that brought me here. Knowing well what was coming I decided to hide myself inside the hollow carcass of a death tree.

The wyvern arrived at the place with confidence, most likely because she already conquered this area. She was calmly looking around the place before it walked towards one of the ponds to drink some water.

Me: The plan is simple, fight from the distance with the bow and void any possible attacks, specially her tail

There was not much else to it, there wasn't anything beyond that. My only option is to go for a safe fight and dodge everything since I'm no tank.
