Riley was put into an adoption center when she was nearly 5 years old. She had been in multiple foster homes throughout her life. She has no friends and hasn't stayed in even one foster home for more than a month.

My alarm went off and was extremely loud. I sat up quickly, it's still a little dark in my room but the sun is starting to rise. Today is the day we finally get to go to Oregon to start exploring after months of waiting!

I got up off my bed and walked towards my closet. I grabbed my small suitcase and backpack and walked into the hall.
Jake: needs some help?
Riley: no thanks I think I got it
I put my backpack on and slowly pull my suitcase down the stairs. As I made it to the landing I tripped, when I was only inches from the ground somone caught me. I flinched but then stood up and saw that Sam was the one who had caught me.
Sam: you ok?
Riley: yeah I'm fine, thanks
Jake walked down the stairs
Jake: you should have let me help you
Riley: ok, you're right but I'm fine
Jake: thanks to Sam, if he wasn't standing right there you would have hit the ground which would have sucked. I did it last week
Riley: I forgot about that
Sam: well anyways, are you two ready to go? Colby and I just got back, the rental car is parked outside and we already put our stuff in
Jake: my stuff is in my room, I'll go get it, what about Corey and Shea?
Sam: Shea is on her way over and Corey is in the kitchen
Riley: I'll put my stuff in the car then I'm ready to go
Sam: sounds good, do you need help?
Riley: is Colby still outside?
Sam: yeah
Riley: ok, then I will ask him, thanks Sam
I picked my stuff back up and walked outside. I saw Colby putting stuff in the back of the car. I walked over to him and saw Shea as he closed the trunk.
