Chapter 223: Those Blue Flames

Hawks had traveled to this city after he had been alerted about more cremation murders in the area, from what he could get from the local hero agencies in Esuha City it seems like the cremation murders started recently, and Hawks knew it was Dabi.

He flew over the city, looking for any evidence of Dabi, it was a clear sky which worked in Hawks's favor, it would greatly benefit Hawk's search. He saw what he thought was a blue flame, it could be nothing but it was worth a look. He flew down towards the alley and saw what seemed to be a small mob dispute, nothing of interest. Hawks was about to fly off when...

Dabi: Your all worthless

Dabi burned all of the men in the alley to ash as Hawks landed in the alley

Hawks: Your Dabi right

Dabi: I assume your here to arrest me

Hawks: Something like that

Dabi: Well you should know that these were worthless people

Hawks: So you alone can control the value of a person's soul?

Dabi: I never said anything about souls

Hawks: Isn't that what people are made of

Dabi: Wel... Oh you son of a

Endeavor came out of the corner and punched him with his flames sending Dabi flying out onto the main road.

Hawks: Next time can you be faster

Endeavor: *scoffs* There won't be a next time

The pair of heroes looked and saw that Dabi was gone

Endeavor: Dammit

Endeavor ran out of the alley and saw an injured Dabi walking away

Endeavor: Stop

Dabi stopped and turned around, he was holding a little girl in front of him a smile creeping across his face

Dabi: What now Endeavor, are you gonna hit me again *laughs* You can't otherwise you'll hurt her won't you

Endeavor: Dammit

Hawks landed behind Endeavor knowing that he wasn't fast enough and Dabi could use this girl as a projectile and light her in fire. Hawks knew that Dabi had them right where he wanted them,

Dabi: Well Endeavor it seems like even with the number one title you still can't save one girl, your pathetic

Endeavor: Let her go

Dabi: *His smile widened* Well if that's what the number one hero says

Dabi took the girl and threw her head first on the concrete and lit her on fire, running behind the flames. Endeavor ran towards the girl as he tried to get her out of the flames. Endeavor managed to pick the girl up but it was too late, most of her body was ash.

Hawks: We need to go

Endeavor didn't want to leave the girl behind but he had too, if he was caught then it could lower his ranking, he couldn't take the backlash that could come of this.

Endeavor: Let's go

Endeavor took one last look at the blue flames before jumping up onto the roof of a nearby building.

The character interactions were the main highlight of writing this chapter, How Dabi and Hawks personality clash and how each person goes about what they do. Dabi's ingenuity saved him however it was only due to how the Hero Society Works.
