Watching my best friend, queen and alpha crying silently at her battered mates bedside fills me we sadness, anger and guilt. It's my job as her beta to protect her, guide her and look at me! I could not protect her father, mate or heart. I was useless to comfort her after the king was brutally murdered, I was useless to guide her on how to move forward with her mate because I lost my fucking memory. I have failed my friend... my queen.

NO, no this is not how this will end, I will bring Hope home safely and I will deliver the rogue bitches head on a silver fucking platter. I walk over to Becca and give her a quick side hug before excusing myself. As soon as I leave the room I mind link the pervious queen and elders to meet me in my office.

I sit at my desk, my eyes closed and my hands crossed on the table while I await everyone's arrival. Once the last elder arrives I begin. I look up, fire in my eyes and begin to speak, "I will NOT allow that bitch to win. I will not stand ideally by while the rogue queen destroys the royal pack from the inside out. We will fight and we will win but this time on our terms" I say fiercely.

I look to the queen, "Becca is unable to lead so I am stepping up as second in command. We will not sleep until we have a plan of attack that will bring our princess home safely and destroy the rogue pack and it's bitch queen".

The queen nods in agreement while the elders begin discussing plans of attack. We are the royal pack, we never back down from a fight and every member of our pack wants blood for the loss of the king.

One of the elders looks to me confused, "beta Sam" he says, "did the princess not betray us along with River?"

I shake my head no slowly, "it has come to our attention that neither River nor Hope betrayed the royal pack, the rogue queen has a witch that cast spells on them, removing their memories and connecting the rogue queen and River with a false mate bond", I say in anger.

The entire room gasps, "that type of magic is forbidden" one elder says, "this can not go unpunished" another adds, "we must save the princess" another yells. The elders continue ranting as I raise my hand to silence them.

"She will pay dearly my friends, the royal pack will wipe her and her followers from this earth. The land in which they inhabit will burn and we will salt the ground, we will show them who we really are and they will die screaming" I yell as I pound my fist on the table and stand. "They killed our king, hurt our queens, kidnapped our princess and new king. I will stop at nothing to destroy them and erase them from history".

"Plans", I shout, "give me a plan and let's end this". The crowd cheers as I walk away. I need to be with Becca. I can't even imagine how she is feeling right now. She worked so hard to get River back the first time and now...now... I shake my head, removing the thought.

Becca gained his forgiveness once she can do it again. We need to get that spell removed if we are going to have any chance at fixing this mess. I walk in quietly to Rivers hospital room. Becca is laying in bed next to River and the heart monitor beeps a steady song filling me with comfort knowing that while his heart may be broken it's still beating.

I sit on the couch watching them as a brainstorm war strategies and quietly pray that they will both be able to forgive, River forgive Becca and Becca forgive herself.
