I'm Sorry

Annie's POV:
I lay in my bed on Wednesday after school. Mum has gone with Helen to visit Dad. She is still trying to convince him to get a divorce.

Aunt Maddie is busy with the spa.
Kyle and Katie are busy trying to reconnect with their Dad.

I'm trying really hard to avoid Ty and Cece. Simon is busy with the newspaper.

I feel all alone. Even Isaac is way too busy working to hang out any more.

I wallow in my pain, by running on the treadmill Mum bought for herself for her birthday.

Before I can stop myself I'm packing a bag. I'm on a bus. I'm on a train. I'm at the beach. I've turned my phone off.

I'm all alone. I slide my jacket off and slide off my shoes and socks. I drop my stuff on the sand and walk over to the water.

This is what I needed. A little time alone. To relax and escape Serenity, if only for a few hours.

The soft sand suddenly is wet and cold on my toes as I dig my feet into the ground. I slowly walk over to the water, it rushes over my feet, filling me with adrenaline.

I walk further and further until the water is up to my waist. I don't even care that my clothes are getting soaked. I walk until my feet can no longer touch the sand. I swim further out until my body gets too tired.

I'm not that far out from the shore, so I lay back and float on top of the water, watching the stars.

My stomach growls in anger, furious that I haven't eaten a proper meal for days. My head grows light and I start to slip into unconsciousness.

I awake quickly when I feel my body grow heavy and start to sink. I can hear the waves crushing above me, moving my body around.

The water speeds up as the waves thrust my body closer to some rocks. I try to fight but my body isn't allowing me.

I feel a tear escape my eye as I say my goodbyes to my family silently in my head, apologising that I will never have time to explain that I didn't intend for this to happen.

"I'm sorry." I think as I give up and let my body be hurled through the water. Waves push me back under fiercely.

I can feel my body sinking and then one final wave pushes me against the rocks. I hit my head. All I can think is 'ow' before I black out.

* * *

I hear snipets of conversations. "911, what's your emergency?"

"I found a body of a girl washed up on the beach-" That's all I hear before I black out again.

"Ma'am could you please tell us everything you know about this girl." A voice says. I can faintly feel needles stickling into me, then I'm gone again.

"Miss, I'm a paramedic. If you can hear me, please hang in there. We are nearly at the hospital." I'm sorry, too tired, I think before I black out again.

"I need a room in the ER now! What are we dealing with?" I hear another voice ask as I'm being rushed down a bright hallway on a stretcher.

"Annabelle Sullivan. Female, 16. Water buildup in her left lung, possible head injury, extremely low blood pressure, single pneumonia on her right lung, but that's all we know. There might be more injuries." The paramedic from earlier says.

I'm probably looking really attractive right now.

"We also recovered some of her things from the beach and have called her emergency contacts and informed them of her state." She adds.

"Thank you." The other voice says as I get wheeled into a room. I black out again, this time not knowing if I'd wake up again.

Hello! Omg, the amount of research I did for this chapter! It was actually kind of fun.

Anyone who actually reads these Author Notes would have been given a hint in the last chapter about what was gonna happen in this one! (hehe)

Anyway, I think the chapter turned out great, I've been waiting to write it ever since I started this story, so this is gonna be some interesting stuff!

Also, I was kinda sad about making Cece and Ty break up in the other chapter, cause I think Ty was helping Cece become a better person. But I LOVE Tynnie!

I hope you are having a lovely day where ever you are in the world! 🧡
