Yeah, I'm Fine

Annie's POV:
"Congrats!" Cece yells as she runs up to Ty, who is celebrating on the field.

They won, but only just. Throughout whole game the score was very close.

"Hey Annie." I hear Simon say.

"Oh my god, hi." I say pulling him into a hug.

"Where have you been hiding? I haven't seen you much recently." I ask.

"I know, I know. We definetly should hang out some time. Actually... me and a group of friends are going to the movies and then Wharton's to drink milkshakes and discuss a movie we are about to see." Simon explains.

"What do you think? We have a few extra tickets, wanna come?" Simon asks as I take one last glance at Ty on the field.

His arms are drapped around Cece's waist and he's laughing with his teammates.

"I'd love to." I say turning back to Simon.

We walk over to his friends and we debate what movie to watch.

"I just gotta go to the bathroom, be right back." I say, standing up and walking away from the stands.

I walk over to the public toliet block, my jumper tied around my waist. As I walk inside the womens side of the block, I feel light headed.

My legs feel like jelly, so I grab onto the sides of the sink. I turn the tap on hastily and splash the water across my face.

I splash more and more water onto my face, trying to cool myself down.

I look up and see a shell of myself.

My skin is pale, dull and tight. But I can still see heaps of fat around my waist that just won't go away.

I wish I knew how to love myself. My personality, my body, me. I just don't, and I hate myself even more because of it.

"Okay babe. I'll be right back. Yeah. Ok. We can talk later, I just have to fix my make up." I hear a voice outside laugh.

God, can this day get any worse?

Quickly I run to the closest stall, but just before I can walk inside, Cece enters. Damnit.

"Omg Annie! I didn't expect you to be here. Thought you weren't a fan of sport." Cece mutters, looking me up and down.

"First of all, I don't want to be here. I had to take photos of the game for the paper." I snap back.

"Lovely. Anyways, if you will move out of my way I have to go to the toilet." Cece says, shouldering me as she walks past.

I head towards the exit, and grab my phone out of my pocket.

Ow! I walk straight into a person.

The person.

The one person I am trying to avoid most.

"Ah! Sorry-" Ty starts to say before he realises who he bumped into. I stand there for a second before basically sprinting away.

"Hey Annie, we are leaving. You coming?" I hear one of Simon's friends yell out from his Mum's minivan.

"Annie-" I hear Ty call out.

"Yeah." I say to Simon's friend climbing into the back of the van and slamming the door shut.

"Lets go." I say.

We ended up watching The Breakfast Club, which me and Kyle used to watch all the time.

"So favourite character?" Trevor, who drove us, asks Simon.

"Brien. He is basically my twin. Like seriously, we look crazy alike!" Simon jokes, as a waitress delivers a tray of milkshakes.

Trevor pulls his van up in front of my house.

"Thanks for dropping me home." I say as I unbuckle my seatbelt.

"No problem. See you soon." Trevor says.

"Yeah. Bye!" I say running to the front steps.

As soon as I walk into my room I lay down and cry. I cry and cry and cry until I cry myself to sleep. Because as much as I wanted to enjoy hanging out with friends, I felt hollow and emotionless the whole time.

"Sweetheart? You awake?" I hear Mum call out when I wake up again about half an hour later.

"If you are, sorry I'm late. I had to close up at the resturant." She says as she walks into my room.

"You okay?" She asks.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I lie.

"Okay. Night darling." Mum says kissing me on the forehead and turning off the lights.

I'm not okay. Not at all.
