Ty's POV:
When we arrive at my house, Cece is sitting on the porch. As soon as Annie sees her she drops my hand."Hey babe!" She says as she kisses me.
"Hi." I say a little confused.
"What are you doing here?" I ask.
"You weren't answering my calls or texts. I had to check you hadn't fallen off the face of the planet." She says.
"My phone died. Sorry." I say.
I can tell Annie feels uncomfortable, because in the corner of my eye I can see her slowly walking away.
I wish I could call her name and ask her to say. I wish I could hold her hand. I wish I could kiss her.
But, I have a girlfriend. A girlfriend I'm trying to break up with.
"I should go." Annie breaks the silence, with the news of her departure.
"You don't have to." I say wanting her to stay.
"I think I do." She mutters looking at Cece.
"Anyway, bye Ty. I'll see you tommorow at school." Annie smiles softly looking back at me.
"Bye." I watch Annie wave goodbye then jogg down the street.

After Cece and I go inside and watch a movie, Mum invites Cece to stay for dinner. She also invited Coach Cal.
Great.
After a long evening of making polite yet slightly forced coversation, I walk Cece out, her Dad waiting in the car to pick her up. I stand outside waving them goodbye.
When I go back inside Mum is upstairs with Katie. Coach is on the couch, watching baseball.
"Hey, Coach." I say.
"You know you can just call me Cal?" Coach asks.
"I know. How do you break up with a girl?" I ask sitting down beside him.
"Ah, ok. Well you have to let her down softly. Get to the point but don't be rude or brutal. Break up in person, as it's more personal and easier to convey how you're feeling, as emotions can get lost over text." Coach says.
"Thanks." I say.
"No problem." He says turning his attention back to the game.
We spend the rest of the evening talking about upcoming games and strategy.

The next morning I wake up to Katie jumping up and down on my bed. "Ty! Wake up!" She yells giggling. Katie climbs off my bed and walks over to the blinds.
"No!" I grumble as she pulls open the blinds.
"Ahhh!" I yell dramatically, making Katie laugh.
"Is he up yet?" I hear a familiar voice say from the doorway.
"Kinda." Katie say running out of the room.
Annie's big brown eyes scan my messy room. Clothes all over the floor, homework half done on the desk, me lying on my bed, half awake.
Her long dark brown hair is down around her shoulders, she's wearing ripped jeans and a pastel green t-shirt.
"Sorry about Katie. Your Mum told us to come wake you up." She explains sitting on the end of my bed.
"Its okay." I say a little confused about why she's here.
"My Mum had to go to the resturant early so she dropped me here." Annie reads my mind.
I notice a couple strands of hair dangling beside her eye, so I carefully move them behind her ear, my hand lingering a little on her cheek. I quickly pull my hand back, ending the moment.
"I should have a shower, I stink." I say, standing up.
"I could've told you that." Kyle shrugs, suddenly appearing at the door. I wonder how long he was standing there.
I jab him in the arm as I walk over to the bathroom. After I shower, I walk downstairs, clean and dressed.
"Morning." I say kissing Mum on the cheek. I grab a granola bar from the kitchen, sling my bag over my shoulder and run outside to catch up with Annie and Kyle.
We laugh and joke the whole way to school. We go our separate ways when we arrive at school.
While walking to Spanish class Jackson comes up to me in the hall.
"What do you want?" I ask, not really wanting to start a fight today.
"Overall, to punch your smug face. Today, I just want to talk." He says as I roll my eyes.
"Okay then. Spit it out." I say, losing my patience.
"That fan girl of yours, Annie. I was wondering what happened between you and her. Well then again, everyone knows. You were all Prince Ty at the party, then you stuck your tongue down that girl's throat after." Jackson says.
I can feel my blood boiling in my veins, my fingers digging into my palm, to stop myself from punching him. "First of all, I did not stick my tongue down her throat. Second, never talk about her again." I warn.
"Oh, what's wrong Ty? Did you pick the wrong girl? We all know between the choice of Cece and Annie, it's hardly a choice at all. Poor love-sick Annie just has to watch you with Cece." Jackson says, not truly meaning what he is saying, as I feel my nostrils flare.
"You say another word about her, and I will make you wish you were never born." I threaten.
"Any. Day. Townsend." Jackson bites back. I feel my arms tense as I get ready to punch him.
"Tyler. Don't." I hear a small voice say. I feel Annie's delicate hand hold my arm back. I let her lead me back down the hallway.
"Just gonna run off are you? Too chicken?" Jackson taunts as Annie whispers for me to ignore him.
We walk past the math classroom and outside. I'm not completely sure what we are doing outside but I don't argue.
