Annie's POV:
I wave Isaac goodbye as I walk up the stairs of the porch and overhear people talking inside.

"I broke up with Jeremy." I hear Mum say softly.

"Why?" Dad urges.

"Because it didn't feel right." Mum explains as I silently open the front door.

"That's not it." He says.

"What do you want me to say? That I love you? That the thought of another man touching me and kissing me made me feel empty inside. That even after everything that's happened, I love you so much it hurts?" Mum yells as a smirk appears on Dad's lips.

"Do you expect me to beg you to come home? To make me believe that there's still something left of us?" Mum asks, staring up at Dad as she seems to notice the distance between them.

"Come home. Please." She pleads before kissing him.

"As you wish." He laughs as he wraps his arms around her waist, bringing him closer to him.

I quickly slip back outside, sitting down on the front porch steps.

My estranged parents are currently kissing in the kitchen. Dad is coming home.

I lean my head against the wall and close my eyes, plugging earphones in and turning on Spotify.

My mind wanders to Ty. How my heart seems to ache when I'm away from him. How a simple brush of shoulders can send sparks flying up my arm.

Maybe we're ready for a second try. What's the harm in taking a chance?

After a few minutes Mum opens the front door, holding a watering can and jumping slightly when she sees me.

"Hey. What are you doing out here?" She asks as I stand up.

"Did you see me and your Dad?" She asks as I smile.

"Is it true? Is he coming back?" I ask as she mirrors my smile.

"Yeah, we're going to give it another go." Mum admits as I pull her into a hug.

"I've been praying for this for ages. You have no idea how much I wanted you to get back together. You're meant to be together." I say as Mum laughs.

"No pressure."

I sit around my dining room table talking with my parents, who laugh and kiss and act all lovey dovey.

"You okay sweetheart?" Dad asks as he collects my plate.

"Couldn't be better." I smile as he kisses me on the head and walks into the kitchen while Mum calls Aunt Maddie and Helen.

"I've really missed you Dad." I admit, hugging him, when he walks back in.

"I missed you too. But I'm home now. That's all that matters." Dad smiles as Mum walks over to us, silently pulling me into a hug.

"I've got my family back." Dad declares softly, kissing Mum's cheek.

"Annie. Get up, you're coming with me to Maddie's." Mum says walking into my room the next day.

"Why?" I groan, as I stop editing photos on my laptop.

"Because Maddie and Cal need help planning the wedding." She explains.

"How does that involve me?" I ask as I pack my laptop and phone into my backpack.

"Maddie said Ty has been really quiet for the last few days, and wants you to try talk to him. You're friends, he'll open up to you." Mum says as I scowl.

"Doubt it. But fine." I say, summoning all my strength to speak to him.
