Because I Love You

Annie's POV:
"Are you sure your okay? I can drive to Dr. Townsend if you need." I look over at Jackson's bloody face while driving.

"This isn't the first fight I've been in. I'll get an ice pack and be fine." Jackson says. I look over at him worriedly but he just smiles and holds my hand.

"At least I got a good few punches in." Jackson laughs looking out the window. I keep my focus on the road until we get to his house.

"Goodnight." I say handing him his car keys and walking up to the front door.

"Night Annie." He says opening the front door.

I slowly start walking back home. Luckly Mum is working late tonight and Dad is staying at a motel. The doctors said for my "rehab" it would be best to have my parents nearby.

"Ugh." I grunt as I start to cry.

"No. I'm not crying." I say to myself as I walk down the street.

For late at night, the air is quite thick and humid, but then again this is South Carolina.

After I shower, get changed into my pjs, brush my teeth and hair, I lay down in bed doing homework, trying to keep my mind of the events of this afternoon.

I feel my phone buzz on my nightstand.

Kyle
Ty just got home. What the hell happened?

Annie
Ty and Jackson had a fight. I'll give you all the details tomorrow.

Kyle
Thx. Also, how r u after all this?

Annie
I'll be fine. Thanks though.

I quickly turn my phone and the lights off when I hear Mum's car parking in the driveway. I quickly plug in my laptop charger and then lie in bed pretending to be asleep.

Mum quietly walks into my room. "Night baby. Hope you had fun at that party. You deserve it." Mum says kissing my forehead, then closing the door as she walks out.

Rays of sunlight blind me as I walk to school beside Kyle. I've just recounted exactly what happened yesterday night.

"Jesus. I wish I had have been there to see you slap Ty across the face!" Kyle says as I laugh.

"Seriously? Out of that whole story, that's what you take away from it?" I ask as we walk up to school.

"Well yeah. Are you gonna confront him again?" Kyle asks as we walk down the hallway.

"I don't know. I'll think about it and we can come back to it at lunch." I say as I walk over to my locker.

"See you then!" Kyle says continuing to walk down the hallway.

"Say hi to Nellie for me!" I tease.

After school I finally decide to confront Ty after spending every single lesson debating with myself whether I should confront him or not.

"Tyler Townsend." I yell across the baseball field after practise. He turns around and sees me striding towards him.

"We need to talk." I say once I get closer to him.

"Okay. I agree. I really need to say-" Ty starts to say.

"Uh-uh. You listen. I talk." I interrupt, putting a finger over his lips to shush him.

"I need to know the real reason you punched Jackson." I continue.

"'Cause Jackson is a dick." Ty shrugs.

"We both know that isn't the reason. If you're not gonna be honest with me I should just go." I mutter, annoyed, as I start to walk off the field.

"Wait! I- I was... I was jealous." Ty say as I stop walking and turn around.

"Why?" I ask.

"Because I love you." Ty yells loud enough for aliens on Mars to hear him.

"Annie. I'm sorry." Ty continues as I start to walk over to him.

"I should have told you that afternoon at the tree. To think of it, I should have told you I liked you the day after The Corner Spa opening." Ty explains.

"But I love you! I love you Annie Sullivan! And I know I can be a real-" Ty is interrupted by my lips meeting his.

I wrap my arms around his neck as his hands around my waist.

After a long kiss I rest my forehead against his. "I love you too Tyler Townsend." I breathe as a small tear rolls down my cheek.

He brings his hand up to my face and wipes the tear away. We smile in unison as we hug eachother close.
