Annie's POV:
I'm trapped in the car. I can hear Kyle screaming for help just before we roll over. Just before we get hurt.

Just before everything changes.

Then just before I lose consciousness in the car, I'm a kid again.

I'm running around a deserted baseball field, all those I love around me.

Then my parents start screaming at each other, all the horrible things they said the night my Dad left.

As my Mum starts crying, Dad quickly walks away.

I yell and scream for him to come back. I race as fast as I can, tears streaming down my small face.

Then Kyle joins him, followed by Simon, Aunt Helen, Aunt Maddie, little Katie, and all my other friends.

I watch as my own mother brushes past me and follows them. As I scream at her, she doesn't even flinch.

As they all disappear into the distance I spin around, hundreds of tear drops flowing down my face.

Then Ty, beautiful as ever, walks straight past me and off behind them. I scream and cry for him to come back.

"You are all I have left!" I scream.

"I love you!" He doesn't even pause. He acts like he can't hear me.

I give up.

I collapse on the ground shaking, crying and screaming as I feel truly alone. When I'm scared and in pain, everybody leaves.

Thunder echos around my room, as a flash of light wakes me.

I look outside. There is a storm. The first thought I had when I first woke up was that I was back in the car about to crash.

I check the time, 5:48. I quickly pull on my rain boots and tip toe outside.

The rain buckets down, as I run straight down the porch, jump down the stairs, and suddenly I feel the sweet cold bliss that is called rain, caress my skin.

I surrender to the night as I raise my arms, letting the rain, rain down on me. I close my eyes giving in to the darkness.

Safety. That's what I feel, as the rain pours down on me.

I decide to sit down on the steps, just out of reach from the rain, watching the lightning brighten up the dark sky.

I close my eyes, listening to the thunder and rain, slowly merging into a symphony of instruments.

The sun is now rising up, reminding me if my sleeping mother inside.

I quietly sneak back inside and take a shower.

I sit at the bottom of the shower, the water trickling down my face, until my fingers go all wrinkly.

After half an hour of staring at my closet and wondering what I can wear to church I pick an ankle length, deep forest green dress.

After I have brushed my hair, and put half up in a bun, I hear Mum in the kitchen.

"Good morning beautiful girl. Look who's up and ready at 7am!" Mum laughs, hugging me.

After we have a berry smoothie and have finished getting ready for church, I watch a rerun of yesterday's episode of the stupid reality show I love, while Mum talks on the phone.

"Annie, time to go!" Mum says, emerging from her room.

"Okay." I say turning the TV off.

"Can I drive to chuch today?" I ask as we walk outside. It stopped raining an hour ago.
