Ty's POV:
Annie fell asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow.

I sat outside Kyle's room texting Gabe, until Mum walked out of Kyle's room.

"Hey Ty." Mum sighs as she sits next to me, slumping into the chair.

"Hi Mum." I reply, turning off my phone.

"I still can't believe what's happened!" Mum exhales as she blinks back tears.

"I can't help but think what might have happened if we hadn't been so lucky." Mum whispers as tears start to form in the corners of her eyes.

"Hey, no point in think like that." I say, trying to reassure her. It's hard, especially when I know how she feels.

Except I can't imagine birthing a child, watching them grow, then all of a sudden they are in a life threatening situation.

But I do know what it's like to think two of the closest people to you could be dead.

Mum looks over at me as tears start streaming down both our faces. I start to crumble and she holds me together, in a hug.

We hear the door to Kyle's room open as Dad walks out. "Hi." He says as he sits on the other side if me.

Mum releases me from the hug, but as she pulls away I don't let go of her hand. I look up at her I see her smiling at me, and apparently smiles are contagious, as I feel a smile emerge on my face.

"Kyle is telling Katie about the car crash, though I do think he's making it sound a lot more dramatic then it was." Dad laughs as he glances back at the door.

Before Kyle went missing Dad hardly paid attention to him, and now Dad is going to see some musical or play thing in Charleston with him.

I'm happy Dad's finally paying attention to Kyle, it also means he will be less annoying and always talking about how I could do better on the baseball field.

"How are you coping, son?" Dad asks.

"'Bout as good as I can be, given the situation, sir." I reply looking down at my shoes, stained with mud and dirt.

"Okay. I've got to call Howie and-" Dad starts to stand up before I interrupt.

"Why did Noreen leave?" I ask, skipping the chitchat.

"It's complicated. But, I don't think she was very happy." He replies. I don't want to push him any more. Dad pats me on the back then walks off to call Dr. Howie.

"When will Kyle and Annie be able to leave the hospital?" I ask my Mum.

"Soon hopefully. Maybe a couple more days, but when they do leave they will both need bed rest, so no school or sports." Mum starts to tell me.

"But the doctors were saying that they are recovering nicely, so it might only be a bit over a week or two before they can go back to school." Mum says as she walks with me into Kyle's room.

He's fast asleep and Katie is playing on Mum's phone next to him.

"Can I go see Annie?" I ask, wanting to see her before she falls asleep.

"Sure. But if she says she's tired, let her rest. She needs all the rest she can get." Mum instructs as she sits down next to Katie.

Annie's texting someone on her phone when I open the door. "Hey." I say as I plop down on the seat next to her.

"Hey." She turns her phone off.

"I think we need to talk." I say instantly, suddenly serious.

"What about?" She asks putting her phone on the table beside her.
