What Do You Want!?

Ty's POV:
Standing with Annie in the kitchen takes me back to seeing her laying down on the hospital bed after surgery. I remember how peaceful she looked, like she was ready for everything to be over. The pain, hurt, anger, sadness, betrayal, all of it.

I also remember how angry and sad she was when Dana Sue kicked Ronnie out, a bit over a year ago.

My phone vibrates in my pocket. I grab my phone and check the caller ID. Dad.

I turn my phone off and shove it back into my pocket. "Was that your Dad?" Annie asks, placing her glass in the sink.

"Yeah." I mutter.

"Ty, I know what he did hurt you. I will never know how you feel, but you should at least anwser his calls. It could be important." She says.

"You're in the same boat as I am! Your Dad cheated on your Mum. My Dad cheated on my Mum. How can you forgive him? He tore your family apart!" I yell losing my temper.

"It is different-" Annie starts to say calmly.

"No! Its not. Your Dad cheated on your Mum! Are you in denial or something? It's been over a year! Don't you get it yet?" I ask, a little confused.

"Dad loves me." Annie breathes.

"I'm not saying he doesn't Annie! But you have to come to the fact he cheated. Your parents are probably gonna get a divorce! How have you not figured this out yet?" I ask, trying to break through to her.

"Tyler, stop!" Annie yells. I've hardly ever heard her call me Tyler, it's always Ty.

I hear the front door open, Helen and Dana Sue are laughing as they walk into the kitchen. "Hey sweetie." Dana Sue says, kissing Annie on the forehead.

"Hey Mum." She says.

"Annie, do you know where Aunt Maddie is?" Helen asks.

"She's in the formal lounge room with Katie."

"Thanks." Helen says, walking with Dana Sue off into the lounge room.

With margarita night underway, Kyle, Annie and I watch a movie. The movie is pretty boring so we turn the TV off and talk. I left my homework in my room so I walk over to the stairs.

While walking back down the stairs, I hear Dana Sue talking. "-I'm trying to convince him to get a divorce. But... Ronnie asked if he could come back." Dana Sue says.

"I still love him, I probably always will, but how can I forgive him after what he did?" She continues. I lean against the wall listening.

This is gonna break Annie's heart to find out her Mum is trying to get a divorce. "Dana Sue. It is your choice, take him back or file for divorce. We will support you whatever you decide." Helen says.

"Yeah. Just keep in mind yourself, what will make you happiest." I hear Mum say.

As I walk back to Annie and Kyle, Kyle says he's feeling tired and walks up to his room. Leaving me and Annie all alone. Probably not the smartest idea.

"About what I said-" I say, breaking the silence.

"Don't worry." Annie interups.

"I wasn't... completely wrong." I say.

"What do you mean?" She asks, confused.

"I heard Dana Sue talking with Helen and Mum, she's... trying to convince Ronnie to agree to get a divorce." I blurt out.

"What!?" Annie yells getting up.

"Annabelle, listen. Calm down." I say jumping in front of her. She pushes past me and walks over to the formal living room.

The three women are all laughing and smiling. That is gonna end soon.

"Seriously!" Annie yells.

"What's wrong?" Helen asks.

"Mum, are you really trying to divorce Dad?!" Annie yells.

"Annie..." I whisper touching her shoulder. She swats my hand away and turns towards her Mum.

"Annabelle Lenore Sullivan. Do not raise your voice at-" Dana Sue starts to say.

"No! Anwser the question!" Annie demands.

"Yes. I am trying to convince your father to get a divorce." Dana Sue says calmly.

Annie walks straight towards the door, opens it and grabs her bag.

"Where are you going?!" Dana Sue asks.

"Home!" Annie says as she slams the door behind her. Dana Sue starts to stand up.

"I'll go after her, make sure she makes it home alright." I say, walking out the door before she can anwser.

I run after Annie, who is using her crutches to walk faster than me.

"Annie! Wait!" I yell running up behind her.

"What do you want!?" Annie yells, spinning around. You, I think. I look closer at her and notice tears streaming down her face.

I walk closer to her, as she collapses into my arms, sobbing.

"I just can't believe it." She whispers into my chest. I stroke her hair with my spare hand, the other holding her waist.

We walk back to her house, her head on my shoulder, her hand in mine. We don't talk, we just admire the big bright beautiful stars in the sky.

* Will Dana Sue get back together with Ronnie or date farmer Jeremy?
*Is Dana Sue Isaac's mother?
