I Hate Hospitals

Ty's POV:
"Dude, you are so drunk!" I laugh as Luke stumbles around.

"Nah, you are!" Luke yells back, giggling.

"I only had one beer, no where near the five beers you had." I laugh, as Luke falls over next to a bush.

As I walk up to him, I notice him vomiting.

"Okay, maybe I'm a little drunk." Luke sighs.

"Guys, I got my car. Let's go." Gabe yells as he drives up to us.

"Come on bud, let's get you home." I say rubbing his arm as I help Luke into the car.

"My folks are gonna flip!" Luke groans.

"Yeah, well maybe next time don't get so wasted you sing karaoke to My Heart Will Go On by Celine Dion!" Gabe laughs, remembering Luke standing on the coffee table belting out the chorus, while everyone covers their ears.

After an awkward conversation with Luke's parents, Gabe and I drive around Serenity.

"Did you hear Trent and Brooke broke up at the party?" Gabe asks.

"No, I was probably trying to stop Luke from wrestling the hammock." I laugh.

"Anyway they break up all the time. They will just get back together in another week. A month tops." I say, pulling out my phone.

"Nah, I think they are over for good this time!" Gabe exclaims.

"Okay. Twenty bucks they get back together by next month." I say.

"Deal. Get ready to cough up a twenty." Gabe says confidently.

My phone starts ringing next to me as I'm about to turn on the radio.

"Hello?" I anwser the call, not checking the caller ID.

"Oh baby... I'm so so sorry." I hear my Mum sob into the phone.

"Mum? What's wrong? Are you okay? Is it Kyle or Katie? What's happened?" I ask worried.

"No, no." Mum says, her breathing shaky.

Beside me, Gabe mouths "what's wrong?" I shrug.

"Katie is fine, she's with Dad. Kyle is in the car with me." Mum replies, and I sigh in relief.

"Then what's wrong?" I ask, even more confused.

Then the one name I didn't expect, came out of my mother's mouth.

"It's Annie." She says, and my heart stops and my stomach drops.

"Did something happen with Miss Dana Sue?" I ask frantically.

"Dana is fine. Well, physically at least." Mum explains and I feel a tear roll down my cheek.

"Annie's in the hospital. Something has happened." Mum cries and I can hear Helen sob in the background.

"What happened? Is she gonna be ok?" I ask, terrified.

"I don't know what happened. I don't know what her condition is. I'm on my way to the hospital." Mum says, and I feel like rolling up into a ball and crying.

"I'll meet you there." I hang up the phone.

"Drive me to the hospital." I demand, more tears swelling up in my eyes.

"Is everything alright?" Gabe asks.

"I don't know." I admit, as Gabe speeds up.

Before Gabe can even turn the car off fully, I'm out.
