Ty's POV:
I walk up the steps of my house, exausted from therapy, and see Cal playing with Katie on the porch, Kyle laying down on the couch watching them, smiling, while listening to music through headphones.

"Hey Ty. Me and Katie are being dinosaurs, wanna join us?" Cal offers as I laugh.

"Sadly, I am only human." I decline as Katie runs over to me and tugs on my arm.

"Ty! Please!" Katie demands as I groan, grabbing her hand and spinning her around as she giggles and shouts happily.

"Ty, now I'm dizzy!" She laughs as she struggles to walk in a straight line, eventually toppling to the floor in a fit of giggles.

"So easy to entertain." I laugh as I sit down on Kyle's legs.

"Ow! Asshole." Kyle mumbles as he pulls his legs away, making room for me on the outdoor couch.

"Love you too man." I ruffle his hair as he swats at my arm, pushing me away from him, before I grab him and pull him into a hug.

"Stupid brother." I laugh as he hugs me back, looking suprised at the display of affection.

"Are you feeling okay? Do we need to call a doctor?" Kyle asks as we pull apart, still looking confused.

"Not for me, but we might have to have someone look at Katie." We both turn to see Katie still laughing on the floor, Cal tickling her stomach.

"Hey! I heard that!" Katie yells as Kyle and I snicker with each other as she comes and sits on my lap.

"Okay, so..." Cal starts to say and I notice how nervous he looks.

"Is everything okay?" Kyle asks simultaneously as I ask, "Who died?"

"Everything is fine. Better than fine, great." Cal reassures as I examine his awkward body language as he flusters around with his words.

"I want to ask your permission to ask your Mum to marry me." He finally says as I almost hear three jaws drop.

"You wanna marry Mummy?" Katie asks as Cal nods and squats down to look her in the eyes.

"I would never take on the role of your father, you already have one. I would just be the same as before, a fellow dinosaur." Cal explains to Katie as she hugs him and gets him to pick her up.

"I'm in. Weddings are fun." Katie exclaims, seemingly content, as Cal turns to Kyle and I.

"Obviously this is a group discussion, what are you thinking about Kyle?" Cal asks looking at Kyle.

"Honestly I am thinking about dinner." Kyle laughs, standing up.

"I don't have a problem. You make Mum happy. And you cook great grilled cheese sandwiches." Kyle says as Cal shakes his hand and hugs him.

"Thanks mate. What about you Ty?" Cal asks as Kyle takes Katie and plays on the floor with her.

"Uh... I don't know..." I admit unsure of what to say, when suddenly images of Mum smiling and laughing fill my mind. One thing is that same in each memory, she's with Cal.

"Mum has had a terrible couple of years. Dad was awful to her. I just want her to be happy and with someone who loves her." I explain as Cal sits down next to me.

"I promise, I love your Mum more than I ever thought I could love anyone. And I will never hurt her." Cal assures as I sigh.

"Well, then it's settled. Welcome to the family." I extend my hand out as Cal shakes it happily, hugging me and patting me on the back.

"Thank you, Ty. I know my relationship with your Mum has made life a little more complicated for you but I promise I am a pretty uncomplicated and consistent guy." Cal states as I smile at him and a car pulls up in the driveway.

"Okay, Katie remember that what has been discussed here is totally top secret! Do you swear to never tell a soul what has transpired here today?" Kyle asks dramatically as Katie tilts her head.

"What does tran-p-ir-ed mean?" Katie asks confused as Kyle sighs.

"Pinky swear you won't tell Mum." Kyle extends his pinky finger out as Katie wraps her own around his.

"Pinky swear." Katie repeats as Mum opens her car door.

"Hello children of mine." She calls out as Katie runs up to her hugging her.

"Hey Katie-girl. How is my favourite daughter?" Mum asks as she holds Katie's hand walking onto the porch.

"But I'm your only daughter!" Katie laughs as Mum slides off her heels.

"Exactly! That's why your my favourite." Mum explains as she leans down and whispers something in her ear, sending Katie sprinting inside.

"Told her where the chocolate was hidden." Mum explains kissing Kyle on the head.

"How was your day?" She asks him as they converse about an eventful maths lesson, while Cal and I discuss tactics for the next baseball game.

"Hey Cal." She kisses him as I close my eyes and yell about how disgusted I am dramatically.

"How was your first session?" Mum asks sitting down next to me as she pushes her hand through my hair, styling it.

"Good I guess. The lady was nice." I say as Mum smiles happily at me.

"Thank you for giving it a go. I know you were hesitant, but you said it was good! That's something!" She yells optimistically as she hugs me, kissing my forehead.

"Yeah I guess it is." I agree as Mum leans back into Cal, her feet on my lap, Kyle laying on the floor as Katie comes back with a bar of chocolate.

"I want some of that!" Kyle jumps up and chases Katie around the front yard who does not seem happy about the thought of sharing.

We watch them run around laughing, as I open my phone and see a selfie Annie took of her and I as my lockscreen.

I smile lightly, turning my phone off and tucking it away in my pocket as I focus on the family in front of me, enjoying the warm weather.

Hello again fellow Wattpad readers!
I hope you enjoyed this post, I was actually really happy while writing it. Ty's character development is just *chef's kiss!*

The fact that he didn't get angry or moody when Cal told him that he was gonna propose and was accepting and mature about it, I almost cried! I legit feel like a proud mother.

Anyways, please follow, vote and comment! I hope you are having a lovely day where ever you are in the world! 🧡
