Ty's POV:
We all sit around in the ER waiting room, too scared to be bored.

"Kyle, Ty, why don't we go get a drink?" Helen asks, standing up and grabbing her purse, offering a perfect way to distract us from worrying.

"Okay." Kyle says as we walk down the hallway.

"I called Isaac, he will be here in about an hour. He and Annie are pretty close." Helen tells us as we walk up to the second level.

We through a long hallway, and I look out at the car park. I remember Annie laughing as I pushed her wheelchair down the same hallway.

"Okay! Okay! That's enough!" She said in between laughs.

"Okay, your majesty." I said as I grabbed her wheelchair and pushed her slowly over to a window. Outside the window trees surrounded the car park, almost like a wall of protection.

I pulled up a chair next to Annie's wheelchair and we watched a group of birds fly around in the sky.

"I'm sorry." She said.

"Why are you sorry?" I asked confused.

"About the night at my house. I'm sorry, I didn't want to listen and hear what you were saying. I wasn't angry at you, more at myself. But, that's no excuse for taking it out on you." She said turning to look at me.

"You didn't mean for what happened to happen." She continued.

"You don't need to apologise." I said shaking my head.

"Anyway, I'm sorry." She said as I heard Mum, Maddie and Helen walking down the hallway.

"Ty? Ty?" Kyle says nudging my arm.

"Sorry." I say clearing my voice.

"Just thinking." I say as we walk further down the hallway.

"I know being back here again must be bringing back heaps of emotions and old memories." Helen says as we walk towards the elevator.

"Yeah, kinda." Kyle responds as we walk inside the elevator.

"Yeah." I agree as we wait for the elevator doors to open again.

"I'll go get two coffees and a hot chocolate, you two wait here." Helen says walking off to the cafeteria.

The coffee here is awful. Disgusting. Undrinkable. But is something to do while we wait.

"Have you talked to Nellie?" I ask Kyle trying to concentrate on something other than Annie's nearly lifeless body lying on the stretcher.

"She's okay. She offered to come with me but I told her it was okay, and that I'd keep her updated." Kyle mumbles half-heartedly.

"I thought you liked Nellie?" I ask, confused from his tone of voice.

"I do. She's awesome. I just... I can't stop worrying about anything other than Annie. My hands are literally shaking. They haven't stopped since Dana Sue called us with the news." Kyle admits, as he shows me his shaking hands.

As I take his hands into mine and try to give him and myself a little hope, "It's gonna be okay."

"I don't think it will be okay this time." Kyle sighs.

Later that night, we are sitting around the ER wing waiting room. I am leaning against the back wall, Kyle is sitting in the floor flipping through a book.

Helen is on a call with someone I don't know, and don't care to know.

Mum is flipping through a magazine and Dana Sue is pacing back and forth. I'm not sure where Ronnie is.

"Hello?" The doctor from earlier walks out into the waiting room, and we all stand up.

"We have stabilized her. We are going to move her to the ICU. She's in a coma. Quite common in these situations. Unfortunately, her coma restricts us from knowing the full extent of her injuries." She says, and we all let out a sigh of relief knowing Annie is okay.

"When will she wake up?" Ronnie asks, appearing behind us.

"We aren't sure, it could be minutes, hours, days, hell even weeks before she wakes up, if she even wakes up." The doctor explains truthfully as Dana Sue tries to silence her sobs.

"Once we get her settled, you can see her. If you'd like?" The doctor asks, probably feeling bad for us.

"We'd like that very much." Helen says, holding Mum's and Dana Sue's hands.

After about ten minutes, we are in the ICU waiting room. Another waiting room. Another cup of atrocious coffee. Another pit in my stomach.

"Mr and Mrs Sullivan, would you like to come and see your daughter?" A nurse asks.

"Yes please." Dana Sue smiles for the first time all evening as they walk down the hallway, leaving Mum, Helen, Kyle and I sitting in the waiting room.

Then after about twenty minutes, Dana Sue invites Helen to see Annie. After Helen sees Annie, Mum and Kyle go see her and I wait alone in the waiting room.

After what feels like forever, Mum comes out and reaches for my hand.

"Come on. Wanna see Annie?" Mum asks, her voice soft as a whisper.

"Yes. Please." My voice is hoarse and tired from crying. I am basically pulling Mum to Annie's ICU room.

"Tyler, she will still be there if you slow down." Mum laughs.

I can't slow down. I have a chance to see her. A chance to apologise. To ask her what happened? Did she want this to happen? Does she not know how much we all love her?

And I wish with all my heart she can hear my pleas and begs and questions and come back to us.

"Ok, go in." Mum smiles opening the door to Annie's room.

"We'll be waiting outside." Mum reminds me.

I walk in and as soon as I see Annie I break down. My tears stream down my face constantly, like a river.

"Oh Annie." I sigh looking at her lying in the hospital bed.

Her hair has had the blood washed out and she has a bandage wrapped around her head.

She's hooked up to an IV and a heart rate monitor, or at least that's what the doctors called it.

She's got lots of scrapes and bruises all over her arms, neck, face and feet.

But she's got a soft smile. Like she's happy. Peaceful.

"Annabelle Sullivan. You aren't allowed to go yet. Your parents need you. Kyle needs you. Helen needs you. Simon needs you. Isaac needs you. Mum needs you. Katie needs you." I cry, sitting down on the side of her bed, holding her hand.

"I need you." I whisper kissing her forehead, and resting my forehead against hers.

"Please stay." I beg, a tear rolling down my cheek.
