I Love You

Ty's POV:
While sitting at my desk texting Gabe, hear the front door open.

"We're here!" I hear Dana Sue declare.

"In the kitchen." Mum yells as I hear Dana Sue walking through to the kitchen.

I then hear another set of footsteps walk up the stairs and pause out front my door.

"Hey. Where's Kyle and Katie?" Annie asks, almost invisible behind the half-opened door.

"Visiting Noreen and the baby with Dad. They'll be back soon." I explain as she sits down on the end of my bed.

"Your Mum said you haven't been very chatty lately." Annie's voice fills the silence.

"Not much to chat about." I grumble, instantly feeling guilty.

"I'm sorry, I'm a bit tired. Want to start over?" I offer as Annie smiles.

"That sounds perfect." She says.

"Hello Annabelle." I say to Annie.

"Hello Tyler." She smiles as I sit down next to her.

"Is this okay?" I ask as she nods and looks me in the eyes.

"You have such pretty eyes, Ty." She comments, smiling softly.

"Why thank you. I don't often get complements on my eyes." I say as she giggles.

"You should. You could win awards for your eyes." She jokes while placing a hand on my cheek.

"I will consider entering eye contests if I can't find a job." I say, my voice softens as I realise the distance between us.

The innocent but intimate way our bodies are touching. How my knee grazes hers, how she rests one of her feet on my shin.

How her hand warms my cheek. How my fingers intertwine in a strand of her hair. How I can hear her heartbeat quicken.

"I love you. You're the one I like Ty. I should have told you yesterday but I was too scared-" Annie starts to say as I kiss her slowly.

My hands cup her face as she kisses me back. With on hand still on her face, I use my other to pull her closer to me.

Eventually when we break apart for air, I rest my head against her cheek.

"I love you too. So much." I whisper into her ear as she pulls me into a hug, before her lips find mine again.

"Hey Ty, Mum asked me to bring you your washing-" Kyle says as he swings the door open to see Annie on my lap, kissing me, my hands gripping her waist.

"Kyle!" I yell as he shields his eyes and Annie hides her face in my chest.

"What's going on up there? Is everyone okay? Do I need to come up there?" We hear Mum yell from downstairs.

"No! No, we're all good. Kyle just scared me, that's all!" I reassure as Kyle places the laundry basket down on my desk.

"I'll just leave that there. Continue." He says, his eyes still covered as he closes the door.

Annie giggles into my shirt as I start to laugh.

"Thank God that was only Kyle. If that was one of our parents I think I would have died of embarrassment." She laughs, softly kissing my cheek.

I slowly caress her hair as she lays her head on my chest and we talk. About anything and everything. Eventually I feel my eyes grow weak, falling asleep with her in my arms.
