I stand outside the apartment building and wait for Drake. It's been ten minutes since I informed him to pick me up. Five minutes of leaving Liam's room, five minutes of waiting here. My body shivers in an odd way and I am sure it has nothing to do with wind. What I am proud of myself is that I didn't cry, I literally had in mind that once I leave him I would cry but I am fine now. The paintings I managed to get out from his apartment are still outside his door, on the corridor considering I need help. I am waiting for Drake and once he shows up I will ask for help.
A car pulls in the lobby but it isn't Drake. The person comes out and the blonde man looks at me before adding speed to his pace.
"Evanna you are here." Daniel acknowledges his eyes searching my face may be for tears.
"Uh did you get the thing you were looking for?" he asks me and at that moment I really don't want to talk to him considering he betrayed me. I mean I hadn't assumed that he would be involved in keeping Liam's secret from me as he was the one who persuaded me to give Liam an ultimatum or that day when he came to the café, begging on his behalf.
He is also an actor. Although, the mastermind behind all this is one of the biggest.
"Yeah and also the thing I wasn't looking for." I reply. I watch how his expression turns apologetic.
"I was only trying to help you guys." He mumbles.
"How? Because let me tell you, the help— you should have done before, to tell me about what he has been up to. That would really be a help."
"I told him I would tell you if he didn't tell you first but he lied that he did and after that I saw you here multiple times so I thought things are okay between you guys. That you forgive him." He says and I don't know if he is telling the truth or not.
"But then only recently I saw him meeting with Selena, I confront him—"
"Wait, you know Selena?" I cut him off.
"Yeah she—well I know Liam so obviously I know her and the boy she cheated Liam with is my cousin. So yeah I know her." He says, making me remember that Liam already told me about this once. How could I forget? Well at least at some where he didn't lie to me. His past story was true I suppose.
"Look Evanna I am deeply—through my heart I am sorry. I didn't know. I am not lying. I swear. If I would have known that he is lying and keeping you in the dark. I wouldn't keep my mouth shut. Liam made a mistake of keeping his mouth sealed only because he was afraid for you and afraid to lose you. His intentions of making the bet might be bad but what he actually did with you...it was all right. None of it was bad, it was good and not in any way of playing with you." He tells me.
"Even if I do believe it doesn't change the fact that whatever it was between us, it was based on a lie. A game he made with some jerk of boys purely due to redeem his deflated ego. He just wants to prove a point that I can't get away with slapping him. He wants to show his masculinity because apparently he can't digest the fact that someone calls him out on his attitude of being an asshole." I say.
"So you didn't forgive him? Did he say something to you?" he asks me.
"I don't think so it's your business Daniel. I get that you are concerned for him but if you want answers then why not ask him? I am not feeling okay to share." I tell him the truth. What Liam and I talk in his room and what we are going through, it's our matter. The less the people know, the better. Even though he already did tell everything to those boys who he bet with, they knew about me. They know me as the girl who is Liam's easy catch or a prey to fall.
