HAPPY NEW YEAR PEOPLE!!! I know I know, I am one day late. I promised to upload yesterday but my phone crashed and few para of this chapter was in my notes draft so I went to shop and got it fixed. Finally uploading it today. Hope you like this chapter!! ( ꈍᴗꈍ)
It's been fifteen minutes since Liam left to get my clutch and I am literally yawning the hell out here. I think he didn't find my clutch. I decide to call him and keep on looking at the stairs. Before it can ring I cut the call since I see him descending from stairs.
I frown because the one thing I like about Liam stance is the way he keeps his body so upright as he walks, he looks intimidated and confidence whenever he walks by, that could make people doubt on their posture. I mean he made me doubt alot of time.
But today I watch a different Liam. He looks off like he is mechanically working his entire body. I gasp when he skips a stairs but thank god didn't fall. He picks himself on time and I see his fingers touching near his cheeks before he rounds the car to get inside.
He doesn't say anything as he sits beside me and aimlessly put the clutch on my lap. I put my hand over it on time so it doesn't fall and look over to Liam subtlety. He starts the car and drives off. I notice the lack of seatbelt. Never ones he takes this so lightly.
I open my mouth to tell him about it but gasp when he overtakes a car so carelessly. We were literally inches apart. I look back from the window and see the man throwing his hand out the window in an angry gesture.
"You almost dented his car." I say and look over to Liam but I think he barely heard me. I see his foot pressing harder on the gas pedal and my body jerks back.
Since I know Liam and the numerous time I've driven with him—I admired his driving. He is a very careful and keen driver except that one time in Vermont where he missed the bunny but there I take the full credit because I had his concentration on me.
But who took his concentration today?
For the first time fear is developing in my chest seeing the lack of focus he has. He is driving carelessly as if we are not crusing through city but bareen land.
"Liam are you okay?" I ask when I see him abruptly taking a turn. He shifts the gear and presses on the accelerator. He doesn't respond and I look ahead in time to see green light turns to red yet he doesn't slow down.
"It's red light Liam." I inform but I feel like he is not in this world. I grab the hanger above and think he will stop but still he hasn't.
"Oh my god! Liam!" I shout when I see him pressing on the accelerator instead of brake. A passer runs through the road out of nowhere and I put my hand on steering wheel to turn it around so we don't hit him.
It all happened so fast that I see my life turned upside down in that moment. Sudden application of brakes pierce my ears along with honks from other cars. When I notice that our car isn't on motion I look up to see us parked in an odd angle and merely inches apart from the fire hydrant.
Our car is half on footpath and half on road. The cars behind us round and drives ahead, some turn their head to look at us. Probably wondering someone is drunk due to their disgusting look. But I focus on Liam.
There is literally no line on his forehead for what he has done. We're almost in an accident and he looks unfazed. I won't say completely out of this world but definitely he is not with me right at this moment.
"What is going on? You nearly hit us over, almost ran the red light with that pedestrian." I inform but he doesn't say anything instead gulp.
He is obviously going through something. I see his phone illuminating light due to notification and wonder did he get a shocked news?
