L I A M

By the time I was awake Shawn wasn't in the room. I check the time and its 7:30. I rub my eyes feeling awfully tired still. I didn't sleep much last night; I was tossing and turning the whole time. It was around four I guess where I doze off. Shawn must've made no sound around here to not disturb me since I didn't even know when he left for school. I walk inside the washroom and finish up my morning routine. I decide against shower because my boxer is still wet from side. So I hang it at the back of Shawn chair and put it near the window. Till it gets dry I descend down the stairs.

I need to at least tell someone elder that I am leaving. Rose father is out of the picture because that man is way too cryptic for me. Her Mom is fine; she doesn't ring the bell around much. I will tell her only and she can tell others if she wants too. I hear commotion in the Kitchen and on entering I see Rose mother cooking something on stove while her Nana is sitting, having breakfast.

"When will you leave?" She asks her daughter.

"Don't worry Mom; I already called the staff that I will arrive at second period. My first period is free anyway today so I am not creating any problem. Do you want more oats?"

"No, I am already full. Eve is sleeping in my room, came last night."

"She is?"

"Yeah, said she couldn't sleep but now she is sleeping peacefully."

"Oh Mom, who cannot sleep just right beside you, huh?" She says and turns around with a smile noticing me.

"Liam, you are awake, come on in." She says and I notice her Mom looking at me. I weigh my option of informing her in front of that old eyes looking at me but I decide against it.

"I was just making breakfast for everyone. You are right on time, to eat it when it's hot. All the lazy sleepers will have to eat the microwaved one." She smiles and I notice her making omelet and sandwiches. She goes here and thereto cook food while also looking over at clock. I heard her going to job and I can't help but wonder how much struggle it is, to wake up on time, make breakfast for the whole family and then leave for work. People often get tired but she—she looks rather happy doing it.

I get up when she walks with my plate and take it from her hand. She smiles and gets back to cooking before turning the stove off after a while. "Liam juice or coffee?" She asks.

"Uh—juice." I reply and see her pouring me a glass full of juice before removing her apron. I see her dressed up in loose blouse and jeans as she places the apron back.

"Okay Mom, I am going to get ready and will leave after twenty minutes. Meanwhile you don't forget to take your medicine and also tell kids that the breakfast is in casserole. Lucas went already so it's just the kids. I made extra breakfast in case." She informs her.

"Don't worry, you focus on yourself. I will look after the house and the kids."

"Thanks, ma." She kisses her cheeks. "Oh and sorry I forgot to introduce you—Mom, this is Eve's friend Liam. Liam, she is my mother...Eve's Nana."

I nod my head sort of in a respectful manner not knowing what else to do because she is staring at me.

"You are not Liam." She says and my eyes widen.

"What?" Have we met before? Did she know about me?

"Your name is not Liam." She says again and my fork makes a clattering noise with the plate.

"Wait...did you met last night. Maybe someone told you wrong name but this is Liam...the other one with dark brown hair was Drake." Rose mother clarifies.
