thanks for your patience!! Here's the part 1 of double update. Enjoy."Did we step on something evil that turned the day into this or we're just people with poor luck of all time?" I ask as I go through my phone documents still looking for my ID.
"I'm not sure about evil but I do want to step on that fancy's manager behind," Liam murmurs grinding his teeth in irritation. I almost laugh due to his choice of words since it doesn't sit right but when I see my phone down by one more percent I want to cry.
"Only 4 percent left," I announce in despair and close my phone before keeping my head on my folded upright knees.
Currently, we both are sitting on the pedestal, at the corner of the road just outside the hotel. It's been ten minutes since we are here and no hope or any sort of light is visible that we can hold onto.
The sun has set down leaving behind a beautiful trail of orange, azure, and red color with a mix of blue. Compared to New York or even Florida the street here is so calm and collected. You can hear what's going on around, not in a ruckus kind of way but more like a background noise way. Clatter of utensils coming down from the opposite side of the house, shadow of people doing their chores from the windows, people walking their dogs, and the whoosh of wind that overpowers most of the noise.
It's a pretty scene to look at, hear, and feel only if we are a part of it. We're sitting at the edge of the road like lost people, to a bystander's perspective I'm sure they must be thinking we are chilling here, basking in the evening glow only if they know how much glow we have lost since morning.
I rotate my head so it's at the side of Liam and see him with his hands stretched out behind his back as he supports himself with his head tilted upwards to the sky.
One side of his face is glowing with the evening sky while the other is shadowed. He looks like someone used a filter on him, a beautiful aesthetic filter. He doesn't look relaxed though but I can tell from his expression he desperately wants one. It is obvious I know but he hardly showed any sign of exhaustion before, it was I who found him going through one when I looked without his awareness.
I'm sure he is hiding it because he partially thinks it's his fault that we are like this which is why he isn't complaining much unlike me. I know I have every reason to complain but now that I am gone through shit— I realized that I didn't go through it alone. Liam stood with me, although his fault, he stayed true to his words and didn't leave me in the middle. So I decide to quit complaining or make him realize the fact that we're in this because of him.
Because in the end, it doesn't matter whose fault it was once we get through it. And I know is... we will. It's not like we are trapped in life and death situation. We have been through much worse than this and now that I look back into those matters, he never left my side on those either.
In the end, he did it when I needed him the most. But we have come a long way since that. At least it felt like it even if days wise it's not even a month.
"Do you have any plans?" I break the silence causing him to open his eyes and look at me sideways.
"I'm thinking of one."
"I'm not asking you to think, just wanted to know if you have any if not then that's fine," I explain which makes him look at me with surprised eyes. He stares at me as if he can't believe I can say something else other than demand answers from him.
"I have nothing in my mind right now. It's all sort of fuc—ugh freaked is not going to express my emotion." He groans and I can't help but chuckle at his frustration of not swearing.
