"You sure that it was Africa?" Alan asks me.
"Yes I am sure." I sigh.
"Prehistoric cave paintings have been discovered in many parts of the world and that includes Africa. Some of the earliest paintings and rock engravings still have been securely dated. Wait you don't believe me here." I show him the book.
"Nearly 30,000 years old, they are discovered in 1969 on the rock face in a cave near Twyfelfontein in Namibia. But the most numerous and the most sophisticated of prehistoric paintings are on the walls of caves in southwest France and northern Spain." I read aloud from the paragraph given in the book before flipping onto the next page.
"Here are some pictures of engravings. Happy?" I say and see his eyes going on the book. Couple of minutes later, a sheepish smile crosses his face.
"Well I guess I am sorry?" he scratches his neck.
"You should be. You accused my intelligence. You know I have been focusing on this chapter since yesterday. I finished it last night, sacrificing my sleep and what I got? Doubt on my learning." I say. Hearing the disturbing news of Liam staying at Selena for a night made my night disturbs, I couldn't sleep and found myself reading art history.
"Well in my defense I haven't read this chapter."
"Then dude why the hell were you arguing with me that I am feeding you wrong information?" I gape. He did not just eat my brain over the topic he knows nothing about for past ten minutes. I could have finish with the cave history.
"I thought to meddle your brain—see if you actually memorize the stuffs and not just remember it like a parrot."
"You did not just say that I don't learn and crams like a parrot."
"Christ, I am sorry." He raises his hand in defense when I ready to lecture him how hard it was for me to learn everything.
"You are just pissed that how I manage to learn it while you couldn't." I smirk.
"Trust me I am not." He rolls his eyes.
"Fine I am." He admits in defeat and I can't help but to let out a small chuckle.
"Aw, don't be sad Alan. You will eventually race up to me. Well you won't of course but you will get there, trudging behind me." I pat his back and he scowls.
Alan and I decide to meet in my place just like we talked previously well more like Mrs Smith talked him into it. He called me an hour ago and I told him we can meet after I finished with my job at café. Since we are almost done with our painting assignment, we decided to study art history, the boring topic of history of painting and what I learn about him is that he is so competitive when it comes to study like actual learning. Yesterday we decided to finish till cave paintings and start the next chapter together. I did it but he couldn't since his cousin visited him so he couldn't focus but man the minute he knows I finished the topic he is bombarding me with questions. Looking for me to slip a wrong answer so his procrastinate butt could feel related.
He was grumpy since I manage to dodge his questions with appropriate and correct answers so he decided to play with my head by making me confused. Crackhead.
"Man these painters were wild like seriously burning the animal fats?" he says with disgusted face.
"You are acting as if you are a vegetarian. I guess people are more brutal in this modern days. They eat everything. I think we should cut some slacks to these 31,000 ago painters or cavemen." I tell him.
