The next morning I wake up to get ready for college. I wash my hairs since it's been a while and take a nice and proper shower to relax my body. Under the shower the remnants of last night continues to move in my head and I wish it could wash away too just like the dirt for our body. I wrap my body with a towel and walk out quickly dressing myself up in jeans and shirt. When I go to kitchen to prepare myself a coffee Amy is already doing that.
"Hey good morning." she mumbles and I notice the dark circles under her eyes.
"You didn't sleep well?" I ask and take a mug of coffee.
"No, I was trying to finish up that book you gave me."
"You still didn't finish North and South?" I gape. I gave her that book around my birthday as I recall and it's been more than two weeks.
"Hey don't give me that look I am a slow reader and it is a damn long book."
"No it's not; it barely has 300 pages or so. Although the one I gave contains small font so yeah it may be around 400 something but that doesn't count."
"Oh it does count. First of all the font is small, sometimes some words skips from my eyes and then next words doesn't make any sense so I have to read it again. It's the whole process." She complains and I roll my eyes.
"That's why I prefer Julia. That girl would have devoured that book in one sitting if she wants too. Although she already did." I say and sip my coffee, she make faces at me and sits on the stool.
"So how do you like it so far?" I ask. The reason why I gave that book to her was because I loved that book. Hell I still do, I read that two times since I first read it which is not too long ago.
"Oh I love it so far, Margaret is a bad bitch and John is like...he is so cute when he is clueless. I especially love their first time meeting like he was so shook about her not really knowing what just happened and that hand shaking scene like that line was so beautifully written He knew it was the first time their finge-"
"Hands had met, though she was perfectly unconscious of the fact." I finish the line and I can't help but relate the fictional characters to the characters in real. Mr. John Thornton as Liam and me as Margaret. When I first started reading that novel those two characters reflected so much of us. Mr Thornton was rude and Margaret being new in town, their bickering, never agreeing on almost every single topic. Their blows to each other but overtime he started to grow soft spot for her and tries to be on her good side. He was so insecure and confused about everything that was going, his feelings, Margaret just like Liam was.
The reason I read it twice is because I love how the similarity of their personality was. Although Liam is more cynical and rude than John yet for me he laid himself down so many times and I thought we will be like the ending of the book but god how foolish I was to compare real people to fiction.
While John loses his calm when Margaret got hurt by the people of Mill, Liam let his friends hurt me and afterwards he pretends he is in rage. While John gets rejected when he proposed to Margret, he didn't take on his ego and just left her. But Liam he takes the slap I gave him for being a jerk on his ego and made a bet to play with me. While John was jealous seeing Margaret with other man, he never interferes unlike Liam who calls me out with names I can't even say. He showed his jealousy as if I mean something to him; he showed me his heart as if I actually reside in there. Unlike John who still pins for Margret even after her refusal, continues to love her. Liam acted as if he is doing the same when in reality he slept with Selena, kissed Natalie and god knows how many girls behind my back. Now as I compare I can't believe at one point I thought Liam to be my John Thornton. I was really stupid to think that. Though how much polar opposite they were in book just like Liam and I yet they find each other through all the problems. Liam and I did find each other constantly after every problem but I missed the biggest point in this back and forth that he was the problem.
