lengthy chapter and a lot of POV switching—warning you so you don't get confused by sudden gender change in statement. (≧▽≦)
"Oh my god, Liam! I can't believe you embarrassed me like that." I groan and hit his shoulder, but the jerk doesn't seem to care, too busy in laughing his butt off.
"And I can't believe you just agreed with me and told him that." He says in between laughter.
"I thought you're right just like previously, so I didn't ponder much."
"You didn't ponder much on whether water is acidic or not?" He says and starts to laugh again. I groan and hit him more hardly this time.
I made a fool of myself in front of bunch of people and for once I could've endured being a fool but there was a professor among the crowd who just looked at me as if I should repeat the middle school. He was literally contemplating how and what the fuck am I doing at this place? A place full of science geeks and enthusiasts where I don't know whether H₂O is acidic or not.
A student was conducting an experiment where he asked bunch of questions, it was pretty simple, and everyone was answering but then some got stuck on one particular question which Liam knew the answer off. Just like yesterday instead of speaking, he whispered in my ear to speak on his behalf, and I did. The professor looked quite impressed which made me overconfident and too dependent on what Liam was whispering in my ear. Until that student said something about distilled water being neutral, I was so engrossed in what Liam was saying in my ear and he knew I had no clue what was going ahead since I was waiting for answers—it was then Liam decided to make fun of me.
So, he whispered— no it's acidic —and I yelled out loud for everyone to hear that distilled water is acidic. There was an awkward silence when everybody turned their head to look at me and I stood there proudly thinking I scored. The student looked confused and said what. That should've been my disintegrating moment but no I said once again that—no you're wrong, distilled water is acidic.
It wasn't until Liam was the first one to break off in laughter until everybody carried along. Confused by the sudden ordeal, I finally bounced back in reality and reeled everything back where I finally understood what I said.
I never felt so much shame neither felt the need to have the ability to turn back time or erase everyone's memory. It was so humiliating that I ran from there.
Literally ran from the scene probably gave them more to laugh on.
"They will remember me for this forever." I whine and hide behind a wall which doesn't outlook towards the seminar. Liam stops laughing but as if he remembered it again, he starts laughing like a maniac.
"It's your fault, you asshole." I seethe but he doesn't care and continue to holler. Annoyed, I fold my hand against my chest and watch him bent over slightly with his hands around his stomach.
He looks like he wants to stop but can't because his face turns red. His dimples are never this visible before, I mean they used to but recently it's the first time I am witnessing them longer. He lets out a groan of pain due to excessive laughing and this time I snort.
Which makes him laugh more. I don't want him to stop but now he really looks like he should stop considering how flushed he looks.
"Yeah, yeah I am such a clown. Now you can stop." I murmur and wave my hand animatedly. He puts his back on the wall and breathes heavily after laughing. I turn my head at his direction seeing him looking at me already. He smirks lazily at me, and I smile jabbing his ribs softly.
"I hate you; you should know that." I tell him.
"I think that's the only think I know about you." He smiles and shows off his dimple. My eyes fall on his cheek indent before travelling to his face. I turn my body completely so that it's my shoulder that is on the wall, supporting me. The side of my head remains on the wall as I stare at him.
