When I felt him standing up behind me I really thought he did it to enjoy the nice air, have a mandatory bike pose with his hands in air not throwing the goddamn helmet in air.
I cannot control my gasp when I see the helmet whizz past at a perfect projectile, landing on a guy causing him immediately plop down like a bowling pin.
"Oh my god!" I apply sudden break causing his fingers to dig on my shoulder for leverage. My mouth drops not comprehending that he threw the helmet at someone. It is a dream, right?
I feel his hand no longer on me rather his weight from behind is off as he now standing beside me. "Where are you going?" I ask when I see him walking. I grab his forearms and he looks at me with determined eyes.
"You're not going there. Come on sit quickly. We can drive from here." I say hastily but he removes his hand from my grip.
"Liam! What the hell! Are you out of your mi—" I was about to get down from bike but he stops me.
"You stay here; I need to bring something back." He instructs and leaves me with flabbergasted look. I look around to grab something in our defense. They're freaking four men over there. Who knows they have weapons?
I watch in anticipation as Liam arrives to their jeep. I cannot hear them but I can see the angry look on their face. I see one of them pushing Liam but he grabs his arm and pulls him forward, muttering something. I don't know what he said but that guy back up and glares at Liam.
Until one of them looks at me.
My eyes widen but before they can keep their stare on me for longer than a second Liam grabs his neck, turning him so he is now facing him. I swallow watching the interaction until he grabs the beat up helmet in his hand and walks at me unscathed while I watch them riding away in their jeep.
"Huh?" My lips part in surprise as I see Liam standing beside me again, giving me the helmet.
What just happened?
"What was that?" I finally get it out. "They just drove away?"
"What were you hoping? Sing along to those death metal songs with them?" He scoffs.
"You hit him with a goddamn helmet and they let you go? Is he even alive?"
"If a person dies with this joke of a fucking helmet I am glad that I saved up his fragile self from major death cause."
"It's not a joke, Liam. With the amount of force you used to throw it away, it would hurt so badly. Not to mention the material of the helmet is not made up from pillow, it protects our head from fatal accidents and you literally hurt him with this."
"Relax. He needed it. Max to max he will get a concussion or maybe he loses his memory—in fact if you look at this way I did a huge favor to people out there from hearing those crass words from him. He fucking deserved it anyway." He shrugs.
I cannot believe he is taking this so lightly. He could've killed him and be in jail regardless of that person starting it first.
"You said crass words too." I remind him. "Should I throw the helmet on your head too?"
He raises his eyebrow and puts his hand in front of motorcycle, close to my parted legs as he leans supporting his weight.
"My crass words hurt you or make you uncomfortable?" He asks rather quietly. He is merely inches apart and I can see his face clearly. The side of his face basking under warm sun rays of Orlando.
I don't know what change but he looks different here. I am supposed to be angry at him but up close I feel the tight knot in my stomach which isn't because I'm livid but because I am—I am nervous.
