When I wake up in Adrian's bed, the room is quiet and still. His arms are still wrapped around me; I feel the slow and comforting rise and fall of his chest as he breathes. I sit up slowly, checking the time on the clock on his bedside table. We still have a couple hours before we're due in Divination.

I shake him awake, and he smiles. "Good morning, gorgeous." He sits up with me, ruffling my hair lightly. He pulls the covers onto his lap with his other hand at the same time. I look around the room, noticing it is completely empty.

"Where did the boys go?" I question.

"Kicked them out at five-thirty. You said you didn't want to wake up and see them..." He trails off. My cheeks burn. "Feel like going to class today?" He asks lightly, his fingertips carelessly tracing my arm.

I nod, getting out of bed and stretching my arms. Adrian reaches out and grabs me by the waist, pulling me into a tight hug.

"What's this for?" I giggle, playfully trying to escape his grasp.

"You just look amazing in these little shorts of yours." He whispers into my neck, pulling me even closer. I get the chills and put my hand out to catch my balance.

My hand lands on the pile of covers he had pulled onto his lap, landing on something definitively... solid. I quickly bring my hand back, my ears turning beet red. Embarrassment runs deep into me; it feels as if my whole body is blushing.

"I'm so sorry." I whisper, my mouth slightly agape.

Adrian's cheeks have the slightest hint of pink to them, but he only chuckles, "Seems you've found me out. I was trying to keep you from noticing."

"Do you... want any help?" I ask quietly. My boldness shocks me, but the words have already escaped my mouth.

He raises an eyebrow. "You don't have to, it's alright. I know you want to take it slowly."

I nod, surprised that he was keeping the boundary in place. I lean in and kiss him, careful to not touch him below the belt. "Do you want to meet me in Divination?" I whisper, my cheeks still burning.

"Alright. I'll save you a seat." He answers, kissing me quickly once more. I get up and walk to the door, turning to waving goodbye. He chuckles a bit, waving and smiling at me. I close the door behind me and hear the lock click immediately; he must have cast a locking charm.

I giggle, bounding down the hall and up the steps to Gryffindor tower. The common room is teeming with students on their way to breakfast. I brush past Lee, who grabs my arm and pulls me aside.

"What are you doing, Mira?" He asks, concern etching his expression.

"I was on my way to get dressed for class, but now I'm talking to beanpole of a boy!" I joke.

He doesn't laugh. "No Mira, what are you doing with Adrian? George is in his room; he refuses to come out or talk to any of us. Told us you'd finally picked that Slytherin git."

My heart stops beating. "It's really none of your-"

"You're making a mistake." He says harshly.

"Leave me alone, Lee." I snap, trying to push my way past him. He doesn't budge. "I'm sick of letting you control my love life! If you're really my friend, you'll understand. It's not right to pick him just for the sake of it."

His face finally softens. He nods, looking at me sadly. "Why don't you go and get changed? We can go and eat breakfast together."

I nod, walking quickly to the steps before he changes his mind. I change into my own robes and put on makeup as quickly as I can before I grab my bookbag. Before I leave the room, I pause. I decide to take the delicate necklace from my bedside and clasp it on.

The metal is cold on my neck, but I wear it anyway. I leave my room and descend the stairs, finding Lee sitting with Fred. They talk quietly with their heads down, not noticing me until I am right in front of them.

"Hey short stack!" Fred laughs as he wraps an arm around my neck. I giggle, glad to see he wasn't upset with me as well. "George won't be coming... Stomach bug, I think."

He looks away as he lies. Lee drags us both to the door, complaining of hunger. We enter the Great Hall together, Fred quickly pulling me to sit before I have a chance to look for Adrian.

"We're thinking of switching the labels on all of Snape's stock, what do you think? Might get us out of Potions for a day or two!" Lee smiles. He sits across from me, Fred sitting at my side.

"I want to know when, please! I haven't been able to pull a good prank in ages!" I smile back. It has been so long since I have felt this at ease with the boys. I only wish George were here to enjoy it with us.

Fred absentmindedly plays with the bracelet on my wrist as he answers. "Duh, we need a lookout!"

We talk about when we should go through with it, when suddenly Lee stops smiling. His entire face falls. I begin to question him, but feel a soft tap on my shoulder before I can fully ask. I turn and see Adrian towering over me.

"Are you alright?" He asks, clearly uncomfortable.

"Yeah, Adrian. I told you I'd meet you in class." I say, confused.

"I know, I know; it's just... the bracelet. You had pressed it." He looks as confused as I am.

Fred immediately pushes my wrist away, disgust clear on his face. I grow embarrassed, excusing myself from the table. Adrian follows behind me quickly.

"I guess Fred had pressed it by mistake. He didn't know." I say when we reach the corridor.

"That's alright. I just wanted to make sure you were fine." He says calmly.

I sigh. "It's not alright. I didn't want them to see me with you yet. We were barely able to laugh together again."

"I'm sorry, dear." He says quietly. He falters a moment before he takes my hand. "I bet I know what will make you feel better."

He pulls me to a tapestry on the wall, taking his wand and tapping it against the woven fabric. He swiftly pulls me into it, and we go right through. With another wave of his wand, the tapestry becomes solid once more.

"What was that?" I ask incredulously. I knew all the hidden halls of Hogwarts, but I had never been here before.

"Terrence taught me this one." He smiles, proudly.

"And why did you bring me here?" I giggle.

"So I can do this."  He reaches a hand to the back of my neck, cradling my head as he pulls me closer to him. He kisses me delicately, making my heart race. He slowly pushes me against the wall behind me, his lips never leaving mine.

My back hits the wall, making me gasp. He uses this opportunity to move his mouth to my neck, his hands travelling to feel my body. He brings his lips back to mine, but now his kisses aren't so gentle. He smiles into me before pulling away to say something.

I quickly grab his tie, pulling him back into me before he gets the chance to speak. I kiss him once more and then pull away myself. I grab his wrist, looking at his watch.

"I think we have to go to class, love." I whisper. He shakes his head at me.

"You drive me crazy, Mira." He grabs my hand and we move away from the wall, walking back to the main corridor. "Before I forget, there's a party on Friday in the Slytherin common room. Do you want to come... as my date?"

I blush, sliding my arm to wrap around his bicep. "I would love to."

We walk together to Divination and sit together in class. He gently places his hand on my thigh as we sit together, driving me mad. His fingers slowly start to slide up my skirt as we listen to Professor Trelawney, making it even harder to focus. Luckily, she bids us goodbye before Adrian can feel how excited his touch makes me.

I kiss him goodbye, making my way down the hall to History of Magic. Without warning, a solid hand grasps my shoulder.

"Hey stranger!" Cedric says, smiling.
