I am shaken awake. My eyes fly open and I find Adrian standing above me, holding a tray and sporting a wide smile. He wears flannel pants and a tight white tshirt; his muscles pop perfectly through the thin fabric.
"Happy birthday, pretty girl!" He shouts. I sit up as he places the tray on my lap.
Chocolate frogs, strawberries, and pancakes fill the tray, which is decorated beautifully with fresh flowers. I look at him gratefully, patting the space next to me for him to join me. He reaches for a strawberry, lifting it to my mouth; I take a small bite and smile, tucking my hair behind my ears. "Thank you, Adrian." I say, kissing him on the cheek.
"You know, you're an adult now. And I'm just an underage boy. This is highly inappropriate." He tells me.
"Bugger off! I'll leave if you want me to." I say through a laugh.
"No! I was only joking." He says quickly, wrapping me tightly in his arms. I smile and place my hand on his. We eat together in silence for a few minutes.
"Adrian. The twins and Lee and I... we have this tradition for my birthday. I don't know if you wanted to do something today, but for lunch and dinner I have to be with them." I tell him.
"Of course, I understand." He tells me as I stand and stretch. I gasp as he slaps my bum. "You know, we were interrupted earlier..." He trails off. His hands begin to trail on my body, giving me goosebumps.
I don't want to refuse Adrian, but I can't help but worry he'll hurt me again. "Adrian," I whisper, "Not right now." I say, pulling away.
"Oh, I'm sorry... Is there a reason? There doesn't have to be." He asks, bringing his hands to his lap.
"I don't know." I tell him, not wanting to bruise his feelings even worse. I don't want him to think I don't trust him.
"That's alright. Are you wanting to go to your dorm? Get changed?" I nod. "Alright. I'll take you."
"Do you want to meet up later, after lunch?" I ask him as we walk together, and he wraps an arm around my shoulder.
"Are you mad? I'm running on your time today... well everyday, but more so today. Whatever you want to do, I will do." He tells me, and I nod.
"We've got Hogsmeade today, let's meet at the pub?" I giggle at him.
"Perfect, baby." He responds.
He takes me all the way up to Gryffindor tower, kissing me at the door. I smile at him and wave, pull open the portrait, and walk inside.
The common room is full of people making their way towards the door, and I push past them to make my way to my room. I reach the stairs and climb up, opening my door and stepping inside quietly. I get dressed quickly; as I finish applying my makeup, there is a knock on the door.
"Happy birthday!" Hermione cries out, hugging me tightly. "You're needed downstairs." She smiles.
We descend the steps together, and at the base of the steps I am lifted from the ground. I look down to see I am sat on Fred and George's shoulders, and they each grab one of my thighs to keep me balanced.
"Make way!" Fred yells.
"We've got a very special lady with us!" George shouts, waving his other arm to push people out of his way.
"She's just become-" Fred starts.
"A legal adult!" George finishes.
Lee walks in front of them, clearing a path for us to the portrait hole. My cheeks grow red, and they boys continue to shout out until we exit the common room.
