When we reach the door to his common room, a bundle of nerves explodes within me. He asks if I'm ready and I nod, anxious to see what a Slytherin party looked like.
He opens the door and I gulp, seeing the common room is exploding with light. Lines of light move on the walls in all sorts of colors, flashing and intoxicating. A deep electronic beat fills the room, the people inside moving smoothly to the song.
Adrian's demeanor changes as he confidently puts a hand on my lower back, walking with me to a nearby table and handing me a drink. The drink burns on the way down, but instantly makes the entire scene soften. I suddenly am not nervous; I want to join in on all the fun.
Adrian's hand resumes its place on my back as he moves through the crowd of people to find his friends. When we reach them, they all yell and slap his back. He is serious but smirks; this must be the Pucey everyone else constantly saw. His friends turn to me and their eyes widen, making me blush.
"This is Mira, my girlfriend." Adrian introduces me. Girlfriend? I don't correct him, waving to his friends as they say their names.
A girl in the group comes up to me and hugs me, smiling.
"Hi, I'm Victoria. Aren't you so cute? Adrian has told us all about you. This is your first Slytherin party isn't it?" She says, her tone is too quick and feels slightly off. I nod and she smiles widely. "Then let me give you your first party favor!" She pulls out a small bag of white powder, grabbing a tiny spoon from Marcus's hands.
"No, Victoria." Adrian says quickly, pushing her hand away. He hastily pulls me away from them, pushing me towards the drink table once more. I look back, seeing the girl dip the spoon into the powder.
"Was that-"
"Unicorn dust. Listen, don't ever do that, alright? One wrong batch and it will kill you." He says, his tone serious.
"Alright, I wasn't planning on it." I say, his tone slightly frightening me. He hands me another drink and I quickly drink it, it's effects quick in my blood.
"Can we dance?" I ask. He smiles and wordlessly pulls me to the large crowd of people. He brings a flask with him, drinking its contents as we weave through his housemates. He hands it to me when it's almost empty, and I finish it hastily. This stuff tastes even worse than what I had drank before, but makes my blood feel like fire in my veins.
Adrian places his hands on my hips, taking his place behind me. The electronic music fills me with excitement, and Adrian and I begin to dance. I grind into Adrian, his grip tightening as he leans into me. He begins to kiss my neck from behind, sending shivers to my core.
I turn and wrap my arms around his neck, kissing him as we bounce and sway to the music. He unbuttons his shirt, exposing his washboard abs. A thin layer of sweat makes his body glisten; he looks absolutely gorgeous. I kiss his neck hungrily, then move to his ear.
I nibble at his earlobe before I say, "Can we get another drink?"
He nods, placing his hand on my waist as we stumble through the crowd. Adrian leads me to a couch to wait as he goes to get the drinks, kissing me sloppily before he leaves. The second he is out of sight, a group of boys sits around me.
"Well hello there," One boy says, his smile huge and lopsided.
"Aren't you Adrian's little Gryffindor girlfriend?" Another boy says, a slight smirk on his lips. He wraps his arm around my shoulders; it is heavy and uncomfortable.
"Can you let go of me please?" I mumble.
"What's wrong, baby? Not having fun?" The boy says, his words bringing nausea to my stomach.
