Adrian returns only minutes after I have crawled out of the bath and dressed myself. Angelina follows him wordlessly, her arms crossed on her chest.
"Mira?" She asks, passing him and coming to my side.
I muster up a smile before I answer. "Hey Angie. Erm, I need your help." I tell her, my cheeks turning pink.
Adrian stands at the entrance of the bathroom, looking to us wearily. Angelina motions to him as she complains, "He wouldn't tell me anything, just that you needed me in here. What's going on?"
"Erm, do you remember... the day after the quidditch party this year? How you were... hurting because of Fred?" I ask, completely embarrassed. I bring my hands to my face and cover my eyes.
"Yes," she giggles, "That was no- oh. Oh, Godric, are you alright?" She asks me.
"I'm so sorry to ask you this. I just don't know what to do." I tell her.
"You know you can tell me anything, Mira." She responds, touching my knee lightly. "Did you bleed?" She asks in a low whisper. I nod.
"Only a little. It just still hurts." I answer.
"It's good you took this bath. Katie got me this potion, I'll see if I still have some; I think I only drank half of it. I'll bring it to you if I find it alright? And you'll have to stay in bed until I can get it to you. That will fix you up." She says, patting my hair.
"Thank you Angie," I pause, "Please don't tell Katie."
She laughs. "I won't. I'll go look for the potion now. Will you be in our room?"
"I'll be in Adrian's, in the dungeon. He'll get it from you if that's alright." I say. She nods and turns, leaving the bathroom quickly. Adrian walks up to me, lifting me into his arms. He strokes my hair lightly.
"How are you?" He asks me.
"I'm alright." I whisper. "Stop blaming yourself." I lean up and kiss his cheek.
"Where do you want me to take you?" He asks.
"Your room? Is that alright?"
He nods. "Of course, love." He begins to walk out of the bathroom, and to my dismay I see the halls are alive and busy with students. Adrian walks calmly, trying to avoid any attention.
As we descend the stairs, I look up at him. His jaw is clenched and his eyebrows are furrowed. "Adrian? I'm alright, really. Just relax."
"I feel horrible. It's my fault. The last few days all I've done is hurt you and hurt you." He tells me, his eyes beginning to well up.
He opens the door to his common room, pushing past the crowd of people who blocked his way towards his room. Once the door to his dormitory is safely shut behind him, he sets me down lightly on his bed. I wince slightly as I sit, pushing myself to lay down.
"Can you hold me?" I ask, to which he nods. He lays with me over the covers, cradling me. He doesn't speak, but I can hear him sniffle lightly. I turn to face him, seeing him wipe his eyes. "What's wrong, my love?" I press.
"Nothing." He replies.
"Please. You said you'd tell me everything." I tell him.
He takes a deep breath, covering his eyes with one hand. "I think we need to take a break." He says quietly. My heart stops beating; the air is sucked out of my chest painfully. A break?
"What are you talking about?" I cry out, sitting up. A sharp pain courses through me, causing me to whine.
"I'm not good for you. All I've done is bring you pain. Don't you see that?" He tells me, his voice growing louder. He sits up and faces away from me. "I can't keep hurting you."
