Chapter 52: Another One Bites the Dust, Part 1

July 15th (THU) 6:04 PM

"Ooh, did you hear? Mika got her boyfriend to buy her a brand new pair of designer earrings." The young woman says as she and her boyfriend enter the man's apartment. "What do you say you buy me some?"

"Maybe next time." He tells her with a smile as he was about to shut the door when a hand suddenly gripped at it. Forcing it open. In retaliation for how they treated him and for mocking him, Kira gives in to his urges and had followed the couple home. He stared at them with a cold, dead stare as he entered the apartment. The man, shaken up by Kira's sudden appearance, tried to get him out. ...hmph...the poor bastard. "The hell you think you're doing, skeeze?! You can't come in here! G-get out of my apartment!" He shouted, ready to get physical with him.

However, there was no point. Kira placed a hand to the man's face and, ever so calmly, destroys him with Deadly Queen as he walked over to the young woman. So quick, it was almost painless. The young woman let out a scream as all the colour drained from her face. Watching as tiny dust particles drifted away as her boyfriend was now gone from this world. Kira looked around and took note of the style of the room. "Hm, a studio apartment. My name is Yoshikage Kira. Would you be so kind as to tell me your name?"

Obviously terrified at this man and what he had done, the woman's legs gave out on her and she fell to the floor. Staring up at the man as her whole body shook. "They don't look normal, do they?" Kira asks as he lifted one of his hands to show her his long nails. "Look how long they've gotten. Do you think there's a single soul on the planet who can keep their nails from growing? There isn't. No one can stop a nail's destiny to grow. Just as there's no one who can truly suppress the inner passions one is born with. Now, I believe I asked you to tell me your name."

"What did you do to my boyfriend? He was right here before-."

Kira's expression contorted with absolute rage and practically drilled his finger into her head. "DON'T EVER ANSWER A QUESTION WITH A QUESTION! YOU DID LEARN PROPER ETIQUETTE WHILE YOU WERE IN SCHOOL, NOW DIDN'T YOU?! I'M ASKING YOU TO TELL ME WHAT YOUR NAME IS!"

"Minako! My name is Minako!" The young woman cried out. And just like that, Kira instantly calmed down. "Minako. Hmm. What a beautiful name your parents bestowed upon you. I approve." Kira says as he looks her over. She was pretty enough and her hands did seem to be on the dainty side. Not as much Hikari's hands, but they were nice nonetheless. "Minako, I have a little request if you don't mind." Kira reached into his pocket and pulled out his bowling pin nail clipper. "I would be thrilled if you could hold onto these for me." He says as he places it in her shaking hands. "And I'd greatly appreciate it if you could trim my robust nails with these lame clippers. You've never done this before, have you? It's your lucky day. Now don't cut them too short."

Kira held his hand up for her so she could easily trim his nails, and while she ever so shakily did, Minako was absolutely terrified. Wondering why this was even happening. Why was this happening to her? What did he do to her boyfriend? Why had she been so stupid...? She wished her father could find her and save her from his psychopath, but she knew deep down that her father, who only wanted to keep her safe, would never find her. "Someone help me. God...I'm sorry... Forgive me." Minako cried out. Begging, preying that someone would come and save her.

"Forgive you?" Kira questioned. "Now wait just a minute. I'm not the least bit angry if that's what concerning you. You intrigue me. I chose you because of our connection. I was born with a certain set of desires, so I try to make the most of it. Life's better that way. You were begging your boyfriend for a pair of earrings, yeah? He left these for you. What do you think?"

Kira reached towards Minako and puts on her new ears. Well, more specifically, he pins her boyfriend's earrings, with his ears still attached to them. Minako looked down at the hanging flesh and screamed in horror, crying even harder than she was before. But Kira paid no mind to it. "You truly are an adept nail cutter. How I adore you." He says as he griped her trembling hand. With one simple little click, Minako stopped trembling and she became still. She wasn't scared anymore. Kira gently held her hand as her entire body had disintegrated into nothingness.
